1951 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3100 Additional Info:
1951 Chevrolet 3100 short bed pick up truck- all original 6 cylinder - manual shift 3 speed. Unmoleste, unhacked -No Reserve auction!! Bid to win!
Drive line - original 216 straight 6 with single carb- oil bath breathe, original 3 speed transmission - 3 on the column .Factory 1951 rear end . I do not know the gear ratio . It drives great down the road and shifts perfect... Clutch works like new- does not have any whining or noise, motor runs great and idles great, does not smoke or have any known issues. The carb was just rebuilt and it has a new starter. It is 12 volt converted and has a new battery. It has never run hot and cranks every time. If it sits for a few weeks ... Helps to splash little fuel in the carb ... Starts immediately.
Body- no body rust that I know of... It has a recent low to avg quality paint job in single stage ... Not a high quality paint... But looks decent. It is a 65 year old truck- I do not know the full history other than it was an Arkansas truck. The bed had a steel floor put in sometime in the past, and now has a new wood floor over that with stain and varnish. The running boards are solid and can be stood on. Headlight, tail lights work, New tailgate chains, tail lights, grill, bumpers. All glass is new with new rubber. Wipers do not work. I have included a picture of the floor to show it is original and solid... The truck has brand new, factory reproductio, rubber mat installed now.
Interior- brand new seat and foam, floor plans are solid and original - not hacked up, not patched. Dash painted black, no glove box insert.New rubber floor mat, original floor starter, new door panels and headliner, no visor. Factory gauges are original and show age... But all seem to work except fuel gauge. Speedo needle is broken and does not work. Window cranks are original.. They are old and sometimes stick, but they do take the windows up and down. Cranks and door handles are new ( inside).
Wheels are factory type 6 lug with factory drum brakes... new brakes lines . Tires are michelin radials with Porto white white walls. The Porto whites were not put on correctly and all but 1 are bowing out in some places. Those 3 tires could be deflated and the portowhite installed the correct way to resolve this issue. They do not effect the drivability - the right rear Porto white fits perfect. They are expensive tires .
This is a mostly original 1951 truck that has been kept up well enough to survive with a new quick paint job. It is not perfect, it is not a Barrett Jackson truc, it will not run and drive like a 2016 Chevy truck. If you have any questions please contact me ... I will be glad to help in any way. This is not a fully restored concours truck. It IS a cool, great lookin, classic, head turning, conversation starter at every gas station. Fun truck to drive and in overall great shape .It is NOT rotted out or falling apart. It is way better than most in this price range I have seen. NO Reserve auction.. Deposit required by wir, cash or cashiers check within 48 hours of auction end. Truck is available for inspection in Jacksonville fla and I encourage inspection if you have any questions or doubts. I can help with loading on transport... Let me know if I can help in any way. 904-635-1630. Thanks !
