We sell a lot of '70s Chevy pickups and you might be tempted to glance past this one, but believe me, you'd better stop and have a closer look. Big block power, gorgeous paint, and a full-lux interior with all the creature comforts make it far more than meets the eye.The two-tone black and white paint scheme could have been factory-issue, and it works well on the vintage pickup today and gives it a dressed-up look that really works. The glossy finish shows off some super straight sheetmetal, which is particularly important on these trucks, whose long, straight lines give them a timeless look that remains popular to this day. The regular cab/short bed version has great proportions and remains highly usable as a truck, too. The only real modification to the body itself is the replacement hood, which fits every bit as well as the original, more evidence of the kind of careful workmanship that went into the build. You'll also note little stuff like the shiny chrome side mirrors, bed rails, and a rubber-topped chrome step bumper with built-in back-up lights. This truck is probably too nice to work for a living, but just in case you want to start hauling some stuff the bed's been protected with spray-in bedliner material. The interior's dressed the same as the exterior, with black cloth upholstery on the original bench seat and lots of options to keep you comfortable. The materials are a combination of original and replacement parts, giving the interior a consistent, high-quality look. The dash is filled with some of the factory's best-looking instruments in the original pods, retaining an OEM look. The list of options is rather extensive, too, including power windows and locks plus ice cold A/C. The original radio has been replaced by a powerful AM/FM/CD/iPod/Bluetooth head unit that drives custom speakers stashed throughout the cabin, and it sounds amazing. A sliding rear window is a practical addition, because a pickup with an opening rear window is a pleasant place to spend some time. Of course, with the A/C there are no worries about staying cool when the temperatures skyrocket.Ordinarily, these trucks have small block V8s but if you glance at the options sticker in the glove box, you'll note that a 454 cubic inch V8 was part of the package when this pickup was new. Thanks to a rebuild and a proper tune, it starts instantly and idles like it should, and out on the road you have mountains of torque at your disposal. A chrome air cleaner feeds a 4-barrel carburetor, and a big radiator up front has no problems keeping it cool. A TH400 3-speed automatic transmission is beefy enough to handle the big block's output, and it feeds the original rear end, so this truck is a comfortable highway cruiser and actually pulls down decent fuel mileage too. Modest lowering springs give it a great stance without killing ride quality or hauling ability and there's a recent exhaust system with stainless steel mufflers. Dual gas tanks give this truck the kind of bladder-bursting range usually reserved for semi-trucks, and staggered 255/35/18 front and 255/55/18 rear performance radials on trick Boss Motorsports wheels give it just the right performance look. This is a very impressive truck with great road manners and all the creature comforts. It's one of those times when it really would be impossible to duplicate at the price. Call now!
