With the death of the Corvair the Camaro emerged as Chevys new compact sports car which now inspires the designs we see today on the current one. The sellers family of this particular Camaro has owned the vehicle since 2009. This RS/SS has had a sheltered life. Being on the road for the first 10 years of its life it was taken off the road and sat in a Chevrolet dealership for another 20 years. The vehicle has had one re-spray and the headliner redone at a Chevy dealership in 1988. The engine had a complete overhaul about 10 years ago. If youre looking for one of the cleanest first gen Camaro RS/SS here she is! This beauty is powered by a stunning original 350/300hp V8 mated to a 4 speed transmission and the power is put to the tires through the original 12 bolt rear. The body has never been taken apart and all of the numbers are matching engine rear end except for the transmission which was changed to a Muncie 4 speed manual. It came out of the factory with the rare A/C option. Finished in Fathom Green Poly paint and is accented by a contrasting white vinyl top that matches the white RS/SS stripe this Camaro has a classic late 60s look. In 1969 the Camaro received all new sheet metal to give the Chevy Camaro a wider more aggressive look. The redesign did the trick apparently and the 1969 model year is still the most sought after Camaro from the first generation. Peek inside the window and you will find the original green vinyl interior in great condition. The wood grain panels and accents compliment the interior to perfection.
