1942 Chevrolet DIVCO TWIN MILK DELIVERY TRUCK VERY COLLECTIBLE Additional Info:
This is an extremely rare (only 5 built) delivery truck. A collaboration between GM and DIVCO. IT has a 1942 1/2 ton pickup chassis and all running gear and DIVCO designed the body and shipped it to Detroit where is was placed on the chassis. Only five were made in January 1942 and then GM went into fulltime war production. Most of the restoration is done to the body, Maybe 25% left, new correct tires on 15" original, warped ring Firestone wheels. Engine has been started and is the smoothest running 216 cu. in. engine I've ever heard. We have driven it before restoration was started. Highly documented of the outside (digital photos and velum paper tracings of all art work. It was a Meadow gold delivery truck in Elko, Nevada. Comes with service manuals, dealer brochures, etc. Has original block ice butter box, and "cow moo horn". Really deserves final restoration and a loving home. And no one will ever have one like it.Not presently running. Needs new gas tank (42 Chevy 1/2 ton).
Please finish restoring me !! (my name is MOLLY the MILK TRUCK) A once in a lifetime opportunity to own a very rare truck. A deal with DIVCO and GM during the late 30's made this DIVCO/TWIN delivery vehicle. Using a 1942 Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup frame and chassis DIVCO built the bodies and shipped them to Detroit for assembly to the running gear. Only 5 (this was one of them) were built in January 1942 before GM went into fulltime war production and all civilian vehicle production was stopped. Today the DIVCO archivists believe this truck to be the only one left. Truck runs like a sewing machine, but needs the restoration completed. Entire truck was soda blasted so as not to warp any large panels. Rocker panel on the right side has been welded and leaded in, needs finished and the same thing done to the left side in front of the back fender well. All body work on the front end is ready for paint except a small rust spot above drivers windshield. The original ice block, butter box is intact. Engine is presently not running due to the coil being removed (new one included). All original paint art has been documented digitally and with "tracings" on velum paper. Have an original 42 dealers brochure and MOTOR service manuals. Truck is titled and was last used for delivery in Elko, Nevada until 1964 by the Meadow Gold distributor Bob Minshew. Pictures show how the truck was found on a Nevada ranch about 8 years ago. All glass included for patterns as all had been at, BUT 1 with BB gun's. Trailer could be included for an additional $1750.00.
