1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Additional Info:
I have for sale my 1972 Chevelle ss 454 car. I originally purchased this car in 1986 when I was 15 years old. It had the original numbers matching LS5 454, M-22 4 speed and the original 12 bolt rear end. I have two original build sheets, original dealer check off sheet, original owners manual and the original selling dealers envelope packet that the paperwork came in. I restored the car in 1987. At that time the paint and body work were done by a local Chevrolet dealership which is still less than one mile from where I live. The gentleman who done the work now runs the body shop. At that time the rear quarter panels and the front fenders were replaced with GM sheet metal. The rest of the metal is still original to the car. The car is currently the original code 26 Mulsanne blue that it was produced in. In 1987 all the drivetrain was rebuilt and put back into the car with many performance upgrades. The car has since been sanded down and repainted in 2001 and still looks great. It has always been garaged and only driven in nice weather since 2001. In approximately 2011 the original motor gave way and big changes were made. I still have the original numbers matching LS5 block that will go with the car. The car now has a Shafiroff Real Street 540 cubic inch big block putting out 625 HP on 91 octane pump gas. I encourage you to go to the Shafiroff website and read through all the details on these engines. Very impressive. They start with a Dart big M block, comp hydraulic roller camshaft and Brodix aluminum heads. It runs extremely strong but is mild enough for a daily driver. Always runs cool and is a blast to drive. The engine alone was right at $12,000.00 before ignition and carb. At the time of the engine changeover there were other huge changes made. The car now has a Detroit Speed Level 3 suspension kit front and rear. It has 2 inch drop spindles, tubular control arms, splined front sway bar, DSE steering gear box, adjustable coil over shocks front and rear, and much more. The cost of the suspension was about $7,000.00 before installation. The braking system was upgraded to a CPP Hydraboost set up along with Baer 4 wheel disc with slotted and drilled rotors. Cost of brake system was a little over $3,000.00 before installation. Radiator is an aluminum unit from Griffin with dual electric fans. March pulley system up front. Aftermarket air condition unit from Classic Auto Air. The car has the factory tach and gauge package, upgraded Kenwood sound system. The rear end is the original 12 bolt housing with 3:73 gears, new posi unit and new axles. Transmission is a close ratio Muncie with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter. This car runs out very strong and handles awesome. I am sure I have forgotten plenty so please feel free to ask questions and I highly encourage you to come and look at the car in person if you can. Please DO NOT contact me to help me sell the car. Serious buyers only.....I don't have time for dreamers or story tellers. 417-327-5869. I require a $500.00 deposit with in 3 days of auction end and the entire transaction to be completed with in 7 days of auction end. I do reserve the right to end the auction early for any reason. Thanks for looking.
