1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 BEL AIR Additional Info:

I am listing this 57 Bel air 2 door hard top for my father. 283 4 spd, 4 Bbl Edelbrock 50,472 shows on odometer. It was restored in the early 1990's and was used only a short time. It developed a problem with the engine and it ended up going into storage for approximately 22 years. A short while ago we obtained a 283 engine on Craigslist and swapped out the bad 327 that had a porous block and installed the 283. It runs very strong but smokes very badly when warmed up. At this point this car just would be happier with someone else as it just seems to not want to co-operate with us!!!
For an older restoration the paint held up quite nicely. A closer look reveals some blemishes through-out the paint. There is a blister forming on the hood. (see pic) The chrome is beginning to pit,the worst is on the front bumper but over all this would make a great driver and head turner with a little work that won't break the bank. The left fin reveals some body filler at a closer look but if not pointed out many people would not notice. The under-carriage is rust free and perfectly solid. It was originally a southern car to the best of my knowledge. The exhaust system and fuel tank are brand new. The car is still equipped with manual 4 wheel drum brakes and manual steering. P225/75/15 on front and P245/60/15 are like brand new. The steel Crager wheels are pitted.
From sitting many years it feels like one or two wheel cylinders may have frozen up as the braking is very poor. The engine smokes badly and with that I would suggest the car being towed to its next home. I may be able to tow it locally for you. Any further questions I would be happy to answer or I can put you in touch with my father for more specific details.
