1987 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:
1987 Callaway Corvette. This is #6 car in the first year of production. Very rare color combination. Rare 16-9 Dymag wheels. Very clean, fun, and reliable. Was part of a collection for several years. I have many more pics, and would be happy to answer any questions. Please ask if you are serious before bidding. I have posted pics that include an interview with Reeves Callaway. In this interview, he talks about the early cars and their engines. If his interview is accurate, the first 4 cars had LF truck blocks. The letter posted from Callaway indicates the the #5 car was totaled. That being said, if correct, would make this the first available to be 100% Corvette...
There is a 2" scratch above the passenger front tire on the hood. Also the front bumper fitment to the hood seems a little wide gap on the corners. I see 0 sign of any body damage or repair, just poor alignment. I have pics I can send if your are seriously looking.
This car has had excellent care, runs and drives as it should. Recently tuned up, new injectors, and valve cover gaskets. Old parts are retained to go with the car. Also have lots of history and paperwork to go with, including tank sticker.
As stated in the interview with Reeves Callaway, this is one of the 12-15 B2K cars built during the Delco strike and does not have the B2K stamp on the build sticker. I have had it verified, and you are welcome to check with Callaway yourself to be sure what is correct.
This is a Corvette that is destined to become part of the Corvette history. It's value should only go up from here. If you have been looking for a true Callaway to add to your collection, This would be it.
Thanks, and good luck.
