ORIGINAL!!! ORIGINAL!!! ORIGINAL!!!
1961 Chevrolet Impala
2 Door Bubble Top
409 Cubic Inch V8
4 Speed Muncie Transmission
Only 2 owners since new!
To start, I cannot express enough how hard it would be to find another car like this! This Impala started life with a 283 cubic inch v8 and a 2 speed powerglide automatic transmission, which will be sold with the car if the new owner wishes. This impala was bought new in California in 1921, spent many years there being driven sparingly. The owners then moved to Colorado where the car was also seldomly used. The impala switched owners in 1983 for the first time ever, to my good friend Dave.
Dave was meticulous when it came to his cars. He found this all original, low mile, 1owner car for sale in Colorado, bought a bus ticket from Chicago to Colorado, purchased the car, and drove it home. Once Dave got thte car home, he turned this beautiful car into something even more special by adding a 409 and a 4 speed! Once he completed this project, he detailed the car out, washed it, waxed it, put it on jack stands and wrapped it up with a custom fit car cover, not to be driven or seen again until now in 2016!
Dave has passed away, and I purchased the impala from his wife. I've one through the brakes, carburetor, and fuel system to get the car back on the road. Please take a close look at the pictures! This car still wears its original paint! It still has the original interior! Never been wrecked or damaged in any way. It has the one piece California only bumpers. No matter what part of the car you look at, in the trunk, the undercarriage, under the hood, it is all beautiful!!
Although this car is in amazing condition, it does have some flaws! 3 things: #1, the transmission tends to pop out of 2nd gear when you let off the gas to slow down. This only happens in 2nd gear. #2, The drivers sear fabric is a bit worn. #3, The fuel gauge may or may not be accurate!??
Keep in mind, this car has been in storage for 33 years. It is more or less ready for the car shows! Guarantee you will not find a nicer, more original 1961 impala than this one! If you are in the market for a1961 bubble top, this is the one to own!!
Good Luck!
