1976 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Additional Info:
Video is done: go to youtube....search "seventy six truck 123"
I have been having trouble uploading a video to youtube showing the truck..Hoping it will work today..I will post it as soon as it is done and uploaded...
I have new hinges and springs for the hood, and the hood has been reinforced to not bend, which has been a problem with these trucks. I also have new rubber for the doors and windows, altho,, the rubber is not very worn, I just wanted new rubber...
The engine just cost me 2k to rebuild and new parts and carburetor rebuild etc ended up being close to 3k......compression checks are perfect, runs perfect, edelbrock 650 carb.. new water pump, fuel pump and every other part that looked worn....I have spent alot of time on this.
1976 chevy K10----$4500
The good:
Recently had a pro rebuild on 350 engine with all the best parts, all the way down to stainless steel screws..
Transmission is in great shape and shifts super smooth.
Rear end and suspension are high end and in good shape
All electrical is in very good shape..
Body is straight, with no rust except a bit on the floor of the bed...
tags are current, and I have the title.
Carburetor has been pro rebuilt, and runs perfect.
Many new parts purchased and installed during the rebuild of engine.
The bad;;
The hood needs new hinges and springs I have them ready to install...
The rubber on doors and windows is in fair shape, but I have all new rubber waiting to be installed.
The seat and dashboard are not in good shape.
No air condition...
paint job???
I have the original tailgate and bumper, I just liked the truck better without them...Easy Install tho.
Here were my plans:
New dashboard and door panels ---- $450 from JCWhitney
Pro reupholster of bench seat, I know someone who does quality work ---$250
A nice paint job would probably be about $1200...
A couple hundred for odds and ends....
and it would be like a brand new truck...others are selling for 10-15k
2500 total,
plus 4500 upfront =7k
Do a google search and type in "classic 1976 chevy prices" you will be surprised...When asked what type of truck, put in C10, it will also show the K10...
