1962 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport – True SS model built in Atlanta, Georgia at Lakewood Plant. Solid southern car sold new at Harry Sadler Chevrolet; Goodlettsville, Tennessee 06/26/1962.
Original documents include 2nd Owners Title (1965): Title Application: First Owners 1962 Owner Protection Plan / Warranty Booklet; Car Owners Guide (Manual); 1962 Esso Travel Map (Fla.; Ga.; Alabama). Some old original (1960’s) service documents remain with car. Vin Code: 2187A 1933**. Remains privately owned for last 12 years, older restoration car garaged with other collector cars / boat / 60’s era Honda motorcycle collection and rarely driven.
Interesting details include the Red on Red color combo and rare manual floor shift 4-speed; factory bucket seats and factory center console. Factory power brakes and power steering. Same motor as when acquired, small block with the “462” camel hump heads; factory aluminum Chevrolet valve covers, factory Chevy aluminum intake manifold with updated Edelbrock carburetor with electric choke; dual snorkel Chevrolet factory air cleaner. Super nice idling “cam rumble” turns heads and acknowledging grins. 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle factory wheels / center caps with Firestone Redline tires. The original four factory Chevrolet spinner wheel covers still remain in trunk. Starts, runs, drives, stops with no issues. This is a fun to own car and a sound investment. Not mint perfect, but pictures tell the story better than I can (ie hook up horn; wire up existing factory radio / speakers, etc.).
Located in Marietta, northern suburbs of Atlanta just off I-75 North.
