1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Additional Info:
I am selling my 1970 Chevelle SS. Car has all appropriate SS badging and chrome trim all around. Mileage counter is currently at 66,200 miles. EXTERIOR Car has been painted back to its original color, Cortez Silver. The body is straight and the paint job looks incredible. All door jambs were done as well as under the hood. All chrome was polished before reassembly. Some minor rusting present on the side view mirrors. Car has original Cowell Induction hood. Hood also contains hood pins. I have a brand new set of hood pins that will go with the car. Car sits on 16x7 inch front wheels and 16x10 inch rear wheels. Current wheels not original to the car. All glass is original and intact. Rear bumper has the SS rubber insert in good condition. Locks to both doors and trunk work and have the appropriate keys. INTERIOR Interior is all black vinyl. No tears or major wear to any of the seats. Car is equipped with bucket seats and a center console. Bucket seats fold for easy access to the bench seat in the back. Steering wheel currently in car is not the original one. Original steering wheel will be included, but does have major cracking damage. Original dash pad also has large crack due to sun exposure from previous owner. There is currently a dash cover installed to prevent further damage. Original stereo replaced with a newer radio. All speakers also replaced by previous owner. Aftermarket tachometers also installed and measure water pressure, oil pressure, and volts. Headliner is in great condition with no tears. Carpet is in fair condition with typical wear. All windows roll us and down without any issues, and all door handles work. DRIVE TRAIN Under the hood is a fully restored 396 V8 engine. Motor is not original to the car. De-coding the block shows that the motor should be paired with a manual transmission. Since the car has an automatic transmission, either the transmission was replaced or the motor belongs to another car. 3-speed automatic transmission is connected to a 12 bolt rear. Dual exhaust system also present. Engine/Engine bay restoration was performed in San Diego by a local mechanic and included the following: Repainting the entire engine block, engine bay, alternator mounting bracket, hood mounts, and fan blade. Replacement of alternator, distributor plugs, carburetor, spark plugs, water pump, timing chain, fuel lines, air filter, fan shroud, engine mounts, engine wiring kit, battery, oil filter and much more. Fuel pressure regulator and gauge also installed. Headers fully re-polished. Full rebuild valve job of 396 big block heads. Entire engine fully re-gasketed to prevent leaks. Custom, tall aluminum valve covers OTHER Car also has power steering and front disc/rear drum brakes. I have owned this car for over 2 years. I do not have the original build sheet to this car, but it appears to be an original SS. I have to let it go in order to pay for grad school. If you have any questions, please send me an email. Thank you.
