1942 Chevrolet Pickup 1/2 ton, pre-war limited production truck due to the war. This is the last year these trucks were manufactured for the civilian market prior to World War II with the only one’s produced in January of 1942. Small block chevy V8 engine, 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor, Contender intake manifold, headers, 2 ½-inch individual exhaust and mufflers straight back, electronic ignition, electric fan, aluminum radiator, 12-volt system, 4-speed Saginaw manual transmission, manual steering, power brakes, disc brakes in the front, drums in the rear, 10-bolt rear differential, straight axle front end, BF Goodrich Radial TA tires 235/60/15 in front and 275/60/15 in rear, ION Rims, fuel cell gas tank. I purchased this truck as it sits because of how clean it was and have decided to sell it due to all the projects I currently have. The body of the truck is solid with only some bubbling at the bottom of the doors and rear area of cab. The grill, body panels, fenders and running boards seem to be in great shape, tailgate seems to have been repaired at some point with a reinforcement bar at middle and top, all glass is intact with only the rear glass cracked, windows seem to roll up and down as they should, front windshield is in good shape, windshield crank is not working, interior of cab, dash, door panels and ceiling are also in good condition with all trim pieces intact, missing the metal floor panel with a wood panel in its place. The truck does run and drive but could use clutch and linkage work as the pedal is pretty stiff. Engine could use a tune-up and once over to make it roadworthy and does sound as if it may have a mild cam installed. Below is a video link of the engine running. Sale includes documentation from previous owner listing truck on cover of Chevy of the 40’s catalog along with a picture folder of his restoration.
