1970 Chevrolet Camaro Additional Info:
1970.5 Chevy Camaro Z28. This is a Real Deal Z28, 28.19 trim tag. This is an ex drag car. The Original LT1 350 motor & 4spd trans are long gone. It now has a nice running 454 7.4L big block with apowerglide trans. The trans and/or/shifter need sometwerking, or id just swap for a th350 or back to a stick. Engine has bolt on's like a Edelbrock intake manifold, K&Nair filter, headers, and turbo mufflers. Mufflers have a nice sound, not to loud but a nice rumble. The motor sounds good and seems healthy with no overheating or anynoticeableissues. I've never opened it up or had it checked out so id gothrough it and make sureeverything checks out. It seems to be a factory 4spd car, thegentleman ipurchasedthe car from included the factory 4spd hump they cut out in order to install an automatic with a cheetah shifter. It also has the clutch hole in the firewall, but the 4spdpedalsare gone. Has a 10 bolt in now also has subframe connectors and traction bars. Comes with aluminum drag light wheelsbut will need new tires.
The original color isCranberryRed with Black racing stripes. The car now has an older dark cherry black paint job. The paint is still shinny and looks ok from about 10 feet.Onceyou get close you can start seeing some of the rust and some chipping and peeling. In some spots where the paint has chipped it looks like some of the original Cranberry Red paint is still there. The body does have some rust, minor dents, and some scratches, it will need some body work. Areas of thatI've seen are lower fenders, lower doors, lower door jam understricter, lower quarters, truck lid, trunk hinges, and truck pan. There are a couple small places where there is some rust on the roof but nothing too major. The floors look to be in pretty good shape, there are some small holes, like around the floor mounted gas pedal (Floor mounded gas pedal, Z28 only) and it has patches that arerivitedin not welded. The frame and firewall look really good. Over all the complete body will need some attention but nothing too bad from whatI've seen.
The interior was stripped forracing. It does have a roll bar that i was removing as seen in pics. But the car has not been tubbed and the dashbraces are still there. Needs wiper motor installed. It does have a nice headliner. The lights work. It does need a complete interior kit plus dash pad. The correct one year only seats in some pics are not included in this sale. The black racing seats as pictured will be included. I do have nice drivercondition 1970 only front and rear seats, a one year only z28 gauge cluster, a one year only under dashpanel with the early dash door moldings, and a oneyear only SS or Z28 Camaro 12 boltpostrear end. All of these items can be seen in my other listings and can be combined after this auction ends if wanted.
This 70 Z28 Camaro has no power steering, no power brakes, no A/C. It does have the, correct 28.19 trim tag, the 1970 Z28 floor mounted gas pedal, also has the front and rear thick sway bars, front disk brakes, rear bumperettes, biggerfuel line, and the Z28 only front aluminum bump stops, this is all unique to the 1970 Z28.
This is a rare 1970 1/2 Camaro Z28 with an original desirable color combo. With some brake work and minortweaks this can be a nice drivable project while you fix it up, it has a lot ofpotential.
Clean title in our name. Tagged andregistered. I do drive it around the block once in a while.
