1969 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 2500 Additional Info:
This one I really don't want to part with but my son's career has taken him 6 hours away and I've inherited another pickup but have no economical highway car. My plan is to sell this one, buy an economy car, then spend some time working on an 89 Chevy.
I get compliments on this truck every day and I'm going to miss it. So here's the good, the bad and the ugly. Good: Paint is excellent with just a couple minor flaws, nothing that stands out. There are a couple chips on the each side of the cab below the top of the bed where the bed bolts contacted the cab, you can't see them unless looking for them. I put some small scratches on the top of the tailgate with some ramps I have, after which I started laying a piece of leather there when I used the ramps. Sides are nice and straight. The interior is attractively done. The Chevrolet performance 502HO crate engine delivers 450hp and 450 ft/lbs of torque, is strong, sounds great, runs great. I've worked out the PCV system so it isn't blowing oil out anywhere. The Holley Street Avenger 670 cfm carb is more than adequate for daily driving. I have a driveshaft custom built for it which eliminated the vibrations it had from the original 2 piece driveshaft so it feels just great at highway speed. This truck was orgininaly 3spd manual with the shifter on the column. When I bought it it had a TH350, but the rpm on the highway were just too high. I installed a 700R4 and at first had the lockup converter engaging immediately after 4th gear, it helped with the fuel economy but was an annoyance when going up hills so I took that wire loose, a simple toggle on the dash will probably be the easiest way to handle that. I replaced the old worn out column with a nice one from a C30 camper and I've and riveted in a cover over the old shift mechanism hole in the cowl. The heater and AC system is hidden under the dash and the cowl is smooth on the right side, which really cleans up the engine compartment. I replaced the entire distributor with new one from GM performance after some issues with coil and or module. I do not know the original miles on this truck but I've put 8700 on it since the frame off reconstruction, driving it several times per week. I was hoping this would be the last truck I'd buy but things change. I've sold several cars on ebay before, please note my 100% positive feedback. If you're looking for a great looking powerful truck that's no trailer queen I hope you'll bid high and bid often!
