You can still get a lot of truck for your money with this 1986 Chevy C10 pickup and it offers a sinister look and plenty of horsepower that are practically thrown in for free. These trucks represent great value as starter collectables and their future looks bright as enthusiasts wake up to the idea that their time has finally come.As you know, t takes good sheetmetal to wear black, nd this sure doesn't look like a $20,000 truck from the outside. The deep, hiny finish makes the most of the dark paint to show off straight bodywork and a nice finish that will surely attract some attention. Even with 100% stock bodywork, t has a somewhat aggressive look, o doubt enhanced by those big wheels and the slightly raked stance. It doesn't look like this truck was ever wrecked simply because everything fits together quite well and it hasn't worked for a living in years. Is it perfect? No, t's been driven. But you can't argue with the overall vibe it gives off. There's also plenty of shiny trim that adds some nice contrast to the blacked-out pickup, nd while it all appears to be original, t's most definitely welcome here. The bed is protected by spray-in bedliner material and with it, he truck really is ready, illing, nd able to help out around the house. The neatly finished cabin offers a lot of recent soft parts, ncluding a vinyl seat cover and a set of fresh black carpets. Matching door panels add an upscale feel and this truck is loaded with factory options, o it's a really pleasant driver. Most notably, t carries factory A/C, ower windows and locks, nd even a tilt column, hich is a rather rare find in a pickup truck of this vintage. The steering wheel is a fat 3-spoke unit that looks right and works better than the original hard plastic piece, nd the dash pad is remarkably free of splits despite living its life someplace where the sun is warm. Factory gauges still look good and are surrounded by a brushed metal fascia that lends the interior a nice contrast. An upgraded AM/FM/CD radio lives in the dash, o climb in and hit the road! There's a stout 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood that gives the lightweight pickup the moves of something considerably more sporting. Obvious upgrades include a Holley carburetor and an aluminum intake manifold, lus an electric fan on the giant radiator up front. It starts easily and runs well, nd has the kind of low-end torque that you need in a pickup and that's also insanely entertaining on the street. Long-tube headers and a throaty dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers sounds impressive and you're really gonna dig the twin squared-off exhaust tips sticking out from under the rear bumper. A heavy-duty 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission is up to the rigors of hauling and blasting around town and it settles down nicely on the highway. 15-inch polished aluminum wheels fit the truck's personality quite well and carry giant 33x12.50-15 BFGoodrich radials that add to the butch look. This is not a perfect truck. It's not a show truck. But it is a very affordable old hauler that looks great and will always have a long list of potential suitors hoping to take it home. In the meantime, et in and enjoy.
