1963 Chevrolet Corvair Additional Info:
1963 panel 95 Corvair van. this van is a rare survivor. it was bought originally at the Chevrolet dealership inSonoma, Ca. it was bought by the Valley of the Moon Fire Department. it was the Boyes Hot Springs firevehicle. the hose and ladder transportation vehicle. it was retired in 1982 with 51,000 original miles on it. it was taken to the county storage yard for a fewyears. then bought and brought to a local owner whose plan was to save it, he never got to it. I bought it from him a while back and have decided I can't do another restoration right now so here it is.
The drivetrain was removed (motor, trans and diff.)
I will tell you everything Iknow about the vehicle and you willknow if it is a fit for you or not.as stated above there is nodrive-train, the glass is perfect, there is virtually no rust anywhere on the inside or the outside, the body has a few bumps and bruises, but nothing that can't be cleaned up relatively easy. see the pictures for a better idea of that. mainly the passenger side near the bottom of the doors has some denting that will need to be tended to, but no a big deal. it has sat for many years and is in need of a complete overhaul. But there is very little to these vehicles so there isn't that much to do to get it back up and going.
these are rare vans and look amazing when back on the road, whether fully restored orjust cleaned up and running. this car will come with a California bill of sale, has a clear vin. and it is long out of the DMVsystem, so no back fees orweird paperwork do. there are no keys for this one, they were misplaced years ago.ask any questions you may have on the van and I will be happy to answer you back right away.there are a few mounting holes in the roof where the light bars and rack were. you can still make out "019" on the doors which was the fire department number and faintly along the side is "Valley of the moon Fire Department" along the drivers side.this van also features the rare bucket front seat with a full folding passenger seat.
the dash is in great shape, instrument panel in great shape as well. no rust inside, no rustin the drip rails, no rust int he bottom of the doors, or floorboards, etc. rareAsh tray delete (of course.... it was a fire truck!) I amstartingit low, and the reserve is low. this van was sold on here once before but the winning bidder wanted to ship it over seas, but didn't have the ability to complete the paper work, shipping etc., so here we go again. you will not be disappointed and I am glad to answer any questions you may have
