This 1965 Chevrolet C10 pickup was originally purchased new in Baker, Oregon from the Chevrolet dealer 11/16/64 by a rancher who lived in Ola, Idaho.
I have the original build sheet from Chevrolet showing it came with the Custom Panoramic Cab (big rear window), tinted windshield, side trim molding, 2 speed wiper/washer, deluxe air heater, front stabilize, auxiliary springs, Posi-track with 3;73 gears, power brakes, 175hp 283 V*, 4 speed transmission (see upgrade), 20 gal gas tank (full cab width), off-white color, 160X16 6 ply BSW tire, manual radio, heavy duty radiator, amp-oil gauges, custom appearance, custom comfort. Came with red factory vinyl, cloth bench seat.
It has the original dealer Protecto Plate. Rare!
These are things that were done by the second owner which purchased from original owner in 2008. He only drove it locally for about 600 total miles in 18 years. I purchased it in 2026 after trying since 2012. It had been parked in the rancher’s barn for decades, prior to the second owners purchase.
I have purchased the following brand new from LMC for this truck.
Full patch panels for both front fenders. The reproduction fenders I have purchased in the past do not fit well without modifications, so I purchased the lower fender patches. The upper fenders are fine. I also purchased new front fender braces and filler panels for both fenders.
Also have new inner fenders. Both are badly rusted near radiator
Purchase new door bottoms and rocker panels for both sides. They may need replacement.
This truck has the original Custom Cab stainless steel trim ring on the front windshield. It come with an excellent original tinted front windshield, not installed. The one in the truck is cracked.
It was keyed from the factory with the ignition key that unlocks the driver’s door. It did not come with a passenger side key lock mechanism. I bought two locks sets for the doors, but they are not the same as the ignition key.
This truck runs and drives very well. It needs a new choke cable since the old one will not move, so I manually choke it. It starts right up and runs smooth and quiet. Braking and steering are superb with the upgrades. The 2BBL original Rochester carb was rebuilt, but could use some tuning to make it run better.
Tires on it are new tread, but out of date code.
Summary, I have owned 8 prior 1960-1966 Chevy C and K 10’s. This has the rarest combination of options, and it is the short, fleet side which is highly desirable. It has all original patina which some may prefer. It had been stored indoors for decades but was stored outside for the past 2 years.
One huge advantage to Idaho vehicles is that we have an arid desert climate in the Boise area. This has rust in all the usual areas, except the cab corners are not rusted out. The chassis has surface rust, but no cancer rust.
Reason for selling…I added up the cost to restore this completely and I simply can’t afford it at present. I am 74 and I have no shop to work in.
