Vehicle Details

Up for your consideration is a 1985 Chevrolet C10 long bed with Silverado package. Owned since 2007. 132,000 original miles. Has the 4.3 V6 ( first year) combined with heavier TH400 auto transmission. Kind of an odd combination but I believe it is because the vehicle was ordered with the Heavy-duty Suspension package. It also has a carrier-bearing two-piece driveshaft and stabilizer bars that were part of this package.

It has a Curt receiver hitch and a rear bumper from a Suburban. The bed interior is free from rust. It shows signs of having a topper previous to my ownership. Rust at cab corners and behind rear wheels. Underbody and chassis are clean. Has the original rally wheels, trim rings and center caps, along with new Gorilla lug nuts. The clock works. Drivers side window switch needs replacement or repair. Catalytic has been removed and a glass pack installed. Certain other original parts have been removed and are boxed to go with the vehicle. The choke has been converted to manual. Starts easily and runs good. Has plenty of power for highway cruising. Also would make a good candidate for a V8 swap.

The seat cover underneath are original and were good except for a wear spot on the drivers side, so I installed a seat cover years ago that is starting to show some age.

The air conditioner worked when I purchased the vehicle, however it constantly cycled. I unplugged the compressor and never tried to repair it. It is all complete.

The brakes were surging, and I purchased new rotors, pads, and Timken wheel bearings and intended to make that repair. Then the heater core started leaking and I purchased a replacement core. However, didn’t immediately have time to work on the vehicle and needed the heater and had others to drive so this unit got sidelined. The heater hose is currently clamped shut so no leaking.

Would make a great starting point for a full restoration or tinker and drive as is. I love it and it was a favorite for many years.
