Little is known regarding the history of this 1967 Chevrolet C-10 LWB Fleetside, prior to my ownership.
The truck was purchased from a business in central Tennessee that had started to freshen it for use as a shop truck. During their ownership and ours, a large number of parts have been replaced, which is obvious in the photographs.
While it may not be a show truck, it is extremely respectable and definitely a nice driver.
The truck is powered by a stock 283 cu.in. with a rebuilt 2bbl. (by previous owner) mated to a three-speed manual transmission. A new cam and lifters have also been installed as well as a new water pump and timing chain (documented with receipts). The previous owner put on new plugs and wires and a chrome dress up kit. Itdoes nothave the benefit of power steering or brakes. The brakes are drum type front and rear. The previous owner did put on a new steering box. It has new six-lug chrome smoothies and Chevrolet center caps, and a set of BF Goodrich red line tires. There are new shocks on all four corners.
There are a couple of subtle modifications to the body. The side view mirrors, radio antenna, and c-10 emblems were removed and welded in. The tailgate was replaced with an aftermarket piece with no insignias. The truck was taken apart and painted satin black, in waterborne base coat clear coat. The roof was not repainted and is gloss white. We added Chevrolet 283 crossed flags on the front fenders, something that might have been typical of a Chevrolet car of the period. It has all-new body side moldings and bumpers. The front fascia chrome surround and headlight bezels are not new.
The interior has relatively new carpet (by previous owner), new seat upholstery, seat belts, door panels, glove box door, door handles, window knobs and satellite radio.
The bed interior is scarred from use, but it is covered by a Sure-Fit custom tonneau cover.
While we have only logged a thousand miles running around town, the truck has proven to be very reliable. The emergency brake and horn currently are inoperable. Ebay requires we post mileage, actual mileage is unknown.
If you want a truck that will be the center of attention every time that you take it to Home Depot, this is it. Feel free to email with questions.
