1984 Chevrolet Chevette S (Sport) with 5 speed manual transmission. Starts/Runs/Drives but should be thoroughly gone through before expecting to hop in and drive long distance. I acquired this rather "rare" Chevette about a year ago. It had sat (outside unfortunately) for around 15 years before I got it. It has several newer parts including: Battery, Fuel Tank, Tires (that still have bits of the stickers on them), hatchback strut, and various tune-up parts/filters. 5-digit odometer reads 21,085, of course it has certainly "rolled over" and real miles on the car is 121xxx or more. The pictures tell the story better than my words can, but the interior is in decent shape, but as you can tell, it's not perfect. The body and underside does have some rust that will require repair, including floor patching. And the paint is faded badly in spots, including the roof where it got badly sun-scorched. Glass is crack-free, but the windshield is suffering some delamination. Car is complete as far as I can tell, but needs someone to take the appearance to the next level, my focus was on getting it running and driving after all those years of neglect. If you're looking at this listing, you probably already know something about Chevette's. The 5 speed manual was fairly rare, as the vast majority were either 4 speed manuals or automatics. And this is the Chevette S (for 'Sport') which was RPO code "Z13". The sport didn't really add much to performance, it was more of an appearance package. AM radio works, albeit through just the one dash speaker. This car had a dealership installed Air Conditioner unit, and the compressor was removed, but it comes with the car (it was in the way of doing other work). As I stated, It starts/runs/drives/steers/brakes, but I have only put on a few miles. The "check engine" light is on, I'm not sure what sensor is causing that. It should be towed/trailered to the new owner, unless they live very close to Hudson, WI. If you're a Chevette fan, go to You Tube and search '1984 Chevette promotional film'. It is a 10 minute dealership film promoted the 84 Chevette and it highlights an identical blue Chevette S in the film (see screenshot included in this listing).Feel free to ask any questions you might have. Any serious buyers are welcome to check out the car in person. Clean and Clear "open" Indiana title. Trades are unlikely, but I might be interested in a first car for my son and I could add cash for the right vehicle (something more modern and a 4 door sedan/SUV type).Deposit is due immediately with this Buy It Now listing. Balance is due within 3 days.
