This is a 61 Impala Bubbletop Project started and never finished by a very wealthy man. He ended up with Health issues and the car went up for sale after sitting in a well known shop in Southern California ( Timeless Kustoms ) for years. I ended up buying it a few years back with the intention of finishing it, however fate had another plan. It's time to find it a new Home and finally finish what is a cool ride for sure. Some details on the Car... The entire Frame and Suspension was stripped and Powder Coated/Painted to a semi gloss finish. new Bushings and Body Mounts installed. The Body was stripped as well, as far as I can tell the Floors were replaced, the Firewall has been smoothed to perfection (as seen in the reflection on the Engine picture). The Rain Gutters have been shaved, all Seams have been filled, rear Window Vents removed and of course the Fuel Door has been removed and filled as well.
The under Body has been Rhino Lined and as you can see the Bodywork and Paint is absolutely stunning. The Door, Trunk, and Hood Gaps are perfect (see pictures) and if straight is what you're after, just look at the reflection on the side shots, the horizon doesn't waver a bit from panel to panel. That being said, the Trunk Lid needs to be Painted inside and out, as does the underside of the Fenders and Hood. By the way, it has never been sanded or buffed, so just imagine how incredible it will look when that's done.
The Engine of course was a 409, I was told it has been Bored and Stroked to a 440, producing over 550hp. it has Edelbrock Heads and a Factory Dual Quad Intake with twin Edelbrock Carbs, that's all I know on that, it didn't come with any info on the CR, Cam specs or what Rotating Assembly was used, it too was built at a high end Machine Shop in So. Cal. It's backed by an Extremely well built 200r4 Trans to handle the hp. The Surp belt system is a $2,500 March Unit, it runs a Polished Alternator, new style Power Steering Pump and of course a Polished Vintage Air A/C Compressor. The Exhaust Manifolds are Factory but have been Ceramic Coated.
That's all the good stuff, now for some bad... What you see is what I have, it came with no Windows, Inside Trim, Outside Trim, or Seats, (I was told it had boxes of Trim but it ended up being all 59 Impala Trim) no worries that stuff is available and I was doing a custom Interior anyway. In addition it also comes with brand new Carpet, Door Panels and Seat Covers, all in Factory red. On a positive note, the Front Bumper and Back Bumper have been re-chromed to perfection, the Grill is Brand new as is the Boob Bar. It comes with the original Louver Cowl Vent but also has a new Chrome one if that's your thing. The lower Valence Panels Front and Back have also been Chromed. The Fenders have been temp bolted just for the sake of taking Pictures and the Hood has just been laid on rags.
There are some scuffs on the Paint in places, many will buff out and some will be hidden by the trim and Painted insert in between, but sadly during shipping from place to place by unaware people, the Car has suffered a bit. I can send Pictures of these if your seriously interested in purchasing this. The craftsmanship on this is top notch, I was told the bill for the work to this point was near $60,000, but of course it was a very high end shop.
I never put the Car in my name, but I do have the California Pink Slip (title) that has been signed by the owner that was having the car built, so it's good to go, nice and clean.
If you have any questions, just ask, I can also make a Video if that works better.
As for payment, do to the rise in scams today, I only accept CASH when the Car is picked up, sorry but it's come to that. as for the deposit, a PayPal payment will work.
THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST.
