1946 Chevy Chevrolet/Like 3100NO RESERVE
Here is a beautiful '46 Chevy AK series truck. This one came from a local estate and was still in use until about 2018. I have hauled countless old trucks home from various Kansas farms, but every so often I get a real treasure. This one surprised me how straight and solid it was. Imagine the fact that it spent nearly 80 years working on the farm, and still looks like this. It was obviously loved and well cared for!
My routine with these old trucks is pretty standard - check and fill fluids, fresh gas, and a new battery - pressure wash and a vacuum. I like to get it to where I know what I have. This truck starts right-up and carries great oil pressure. It does not smoke or try to overheat. It sounds wonderful. The transmission shifts through all gears just as it should. All the gauges work. The brakes work great - it even came equipped with power brakes which is pretty rare. The windows go up and down nice, doors shut like new! The engine was updated from a 216 to a 235 which looks the same, but is much more durable and reliable. Maybe the best part about this truck is the PTO driven, hydraulic dump bed. It works great as well. All in all this is just a rock solid, good running old truck. Please keep in mind that it did set for several years, and will need a good servicing and check-over before everyday use - expect to spend a few hours tinkering with little things. I currently have a 12 volt battery in it, so I have not messed with the lights. You can either put a 6 volt back in it - or convert it to 12 volt. Also- I did have to add brake fluid to the master cylinder. Although the brakes work great, and I see no leaks, there must be a small leak somewhere which is pretty typical of these old trucks. Here is a link to a YouTube video of it running (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QxTbk0FANE) or go to YouTube and search Corts 1946 Chevy farm truck. You can also call or text Cort at 620-786-5172 with any questions. This truck hauled nicely on my 18ft bumper pulled trailer (the bed hangs over a bit) Also - I am fine with this truck setting here as long as you need - free of charge - to arrange transport - as long as it is paid for. Thank you and Good luck!
