1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe Additional Info:

Very nice original 1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe 5-passenger coupe
Previously owned by the Vintage Chevrolet Club of Americal national technical advisor for 1940.
Traded in at the Pellini Chevrolet dealership and subsequently put in Harold Pellini's personal collection of low mileage original Chevy's.
My father purchased the car from the dealership on Pellini's passing with ~46K original miles. Dad then took the car to a VCCA meet where it was evaluated and cleared for preservation status. He had changed all the fluids and performed minor maintenance as needed during his ownership prior to his passing.
The car still wears its original Alameda Green paint which was a California only color and only available in 1940. It is getting thin in areas lending it a very cool patina. The interior is very nice original mohair that is getting thin on the driver's side top cushion. The floor mat is starting to fall apart unfortunately. It is a very rust free and amazingly straight body. There are a couple of very minor dents and scratches as would be expected from an 83 year old car with it's original paint.
It is very nicely optioned including:

  • Bumper Tips
  • Bumper Guards
  • Radio
  • Flying Lady Hood Ornament
  • Locking Gas Cap
  • Cat's Eye Lighter
  • Very Rare Under Running Board Antenna (don't work very well but very rare!)
  • Heater
The car runs beautifully (as you would expect a 50K mile car to do). Runs and drives very nicely including the super cool vacuum shift.
If I had room to keep it I definitely would but it needs to find a new owner who will appreciate the originality and be the next caretaker of it.
