1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Additional Info:
The time has come for me to sell my 1970 Chevelle SS "Tribute". I have owned the car for 10 years and have throughly enjoyed driving it around. There is no feeling like the looks you get behind the wheel. About the car, this is a 1970 Chevelle that started its life as a Malibu and sometime in its history was converted into a tribute. The best explanation I have is that a donor 1971 SS was used to build this car. The car has an "O" in the VIN which means it was built in Ontario, Canada. I did send away for the buildsheet, which GM Canada still has.
The Good - It has a healthy 396 / 402 under the hood. 12 bolt posi 3.73 gear ratio, boxed rear lower control arms, F41 front suspension with front disc brakes. I have upgraded to a Tremec TKO-600 5 Speed transmission with balanced driveshaft. 65MPH @ 1800 RPM. I had the dash guages rebuilt and silkscreened the correct color mint green. I have installed a aftermarket speaker system with amplifier and powered bass tube. Tires, Cooper Cobras, installed new and have little use on them. New power brake booster and master cylinder installed while I had car.
The Bad - Water has gotten into the truck area and has pooled under trunk liner. There is a small patch of surface rust but can be cleaned up and resprayed. No rot. Window weatherstripping on passenger side back window missing. Paint is older single stage paint with some small chips. Paint does buff out very nicely. I have done car but I am no car detailer. Front seal on rear differential is leaking but it is a small amount. I'm talking a couple drops a year.
I have more pictures and video of the car running. Please reach out to me via Ebay app and I will do my best to provide answers. BTW - I would have no issue driving the car cross country. Nothing like the windows open, radio playing and the big block singing!! I will miss this car..
Edit - Somehow I created a new seller ID on Ebay. Please see my other seller id MRS009 for my feedback. Over 440 positive reviews.
