Don't be fooled by the low price, this is an Excellent car and worth every penny of the opening bid and much more !!! You will never, and I mean "NEVER" find another one of this quality or appearance for this price !!! Is it perfect ? ---"NO" !!! If you want "Perfect" you will have to dig in and pay $40k - $50k and up for one of these mid 60's 2 dr post cars with a big block.It received a cosmetic restoration (not a frame off) about 3 years ago and is in "GREAT CONDITION" featuring All new Paint - Interior - Motor - Tires etc.The car was built to resemble a factory looking big block vehicle from the "TIME PERIOD", and is detailed and presented as such, but in "NO" way is it an original 427 car from the factory !!!!!!It is not a "Trailer Queen" - but is an exceptional looking "Driver"

DETAILS
Lets start with the Motor & Drivetrain !!


The 396 engine itself has had a complete rebuilt with all new moving internal parts and features a mild street cam and Edlebrock intake with a Holley 600 carb. There are approximately only about 600-700 miles on this engine since the car was finished about 3 years ago.The car is in excellent running and driving condition. It starts easily every time and runs and performs as a new engine should. The car runs on regular unleaded gas and does not "knock" or "ping" or run rough. All of the external engine parts ie: starter-carb-fuel & water pump-acc's were all new at rebuild. The cooling system has a 4 core original radiator and never overheats !!! It will idle all day long in the Florida 95 degree days and never even hint at being hot and will start effortlessly every time after shutoff. The mild street cam has a nice lope but not a killer sound. The detailing on the engine and in the engine bay are next to show quality without being overdone and gets tons of attention at car shows.
The transmission is a Muncie M21 (220 low 1st gear) and operates smoothly and has been resealed and without leaks. No popping out of gear - no grinding - smooth shifting. The clutch and pressure plate etc are all new and never abused and operate as they should.The factory 308 10 bolt rear end is still in the car so it cruses without extra RPM's and is leak free and without any noise.
The Body and Paint !!
This was a very solid and dry Oklahoma body to start with. The overall body had very little rust and still retains it's original floors and most of the trunk area as well as a solid cowl / firewall area. The frame has no rust or weak spots or corrosion (just usual surface rust) and appears to have no structural damage. From outside appearances the car looks great and has no previous damage or rust showing. The overall fit and finish of the body and paint is great and shows very well, but is not perfect for all out show. It does have some small flaws but are not outstanding or immediately visible. Most notable are a couple of blister looking marks on the left side of the hood. This was caused from water droplets getting into the wet paint and not from rust underneath. It has not gotten any worse in 3 years since painting.The rest of the total paint job is great with no chips or lifting or blistering !!The doors open and close as if new (no sag) with a nice tight fit and feel.
The paint itself is smooth and glossy and without dust or trash and has no so called "orange peel". Again - It shows very well, but is not perfect, and is way above driver quality and can stand proud with the all out show vehicles anywhere - anytime !!!!!!!!
All in all the car has great curb appeal and is an instant attraction at any car show or just driving it around town !!!
Interior and Glass !!
The interior of the car has been completely restored from top to bottom and smells like a new car !!! The headliner - seats - door panels - carpet - windlace are all new from a restoration supply company !!! In addition to all the soft products all the following are new as well; All window and door weatherstripping including window channel's (front) and felts (all)-Door sill plates-Package tray-Dome lite assembly-Visors and mounts-Inside mirror and bracket-Arm rests-most door and window handles-Glove box-Pedal rubber pads and much more !! Most everything inside the cabin has been either restored with new parts or has been disassembled and repainted including all the window garnish moldings. The dash pad and dash knobs etc are the only used parts and are in excellent condition. The steering column and complete dash assembly were taken completely out and taken apart and restored and painted. The steering column was then smoothed to make it look like a factory 4 speed column with no sign of ever being a 3 speed on the columnshift !!!The 4 speed floor shifter is an original GM Muncie "reverse lockout" shifter for a bench seat car and has the correct white shift ball. Shifter is tight and has new bushings.I turned this into a radio delete car and it has a new delete plate in place !The glass in the car is great. The side door and 1/4 glass is almost perfect and very clear. The window mechanism's all work great and the windows all go up and down easily. The front windshield has lite wiper scratch's and a rock chip on the driver side in line of sight. It has never bothered me, but it could be an issue for someone else.
Outside Trim and Moldings !!
A lot of the outside moldings have been replaced with new reproduction parts such as the door handles - locks - emblems & moldings, however most of the bigger outer trim ( ie - bumpers ) are original used pieces but in good condition and show as better than driver quality. The bumpers are bright and shiny with very little damage. The grill is an excellent used one and is detailed and looks great ! The wheels are original GM 15" steelies and are repainted to the body color and sport new 215/75R-15" tires. The original '66 only dog dish caps are in very nice original condition and have been detailed with new accenting paint color.
Other !!
The car is mechanically safe to drive and drives very straight and steers easily.No wandering or fighting the steering wheel to keep it going straight.Cruise's very nicely at 65 - 70 MPH without any shimmy or out of balance wheels,and feels tight when driving.Stops great for being all drum brakesEverything on the car works as it should ie; lights/signals/horn/wipers/etc.
