Listing my 1938 GMC COE with older Hemi Engine Swap. I’m told it’s been sitting in a garage for the past 65 years and is a previous Barnum & Bailey Circus Truck. I bought it from a guy who is up in age and his daughter is in her 60s and she said she has never seen it out of the garage until it was removed recently. It has from what I’m guessing a 1950s Hemi V8 engine. Truck hasn’t run in a lot of years but the engine does turn over by hand. The fuel was nasty and it will need a new fuel tank. The tires still have the NEW NIPPLES on them. I changed the oil and got the hydraulic clutch to work. I haven’t messed with the brakes yet but don’t suspect that to be much work to get them functional. It is going to need some electrical work. Guessing the truck is a 6volt truck originally but I see an electric 12volt fuel pump on it and some rather crude wiring so I haven’t tried putting a battery in it yet especially since I don’t have a good fuel tank to get it running anyways. I ran a magnet around on it and haven’t found a spot it doesn’t stick. This is about as original of a Barn Find that can be found pre 1940s in this type of condition.
