1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Additional Info:
Show quality 1971 Chevy Monte Carlo. This car is a head turner. Annoyingly so. EVERYONE wants this car. Posi track rear end. 30 over 383.
This car was owned by a retired mechanic. He also maintained and raced cars. This was his show car. He sold it to me so he could finish the restoration on his Camaro.
The way the car goes around corners is a lot of fun. When you give it a little gas, you can really feel both wheels pushing you forward. I'm so used to one tire fires it's a unique sensation that you have to experience for yourself. It also roars as it throws you back into the seat. But what's really great about the v8 383 is it doesn't have obnoxious power. It's fast but it controls extremely well. I never felt like I was going to lose control. The good brakes (rear drums) and the newer wide tires really help.
Drivetrain works perfectly. Most of the older cars I've owned in the past that have had engine modifications had mechanical operations that didn't work as well or at all. Everything jives in this car perfectly. A/C works great with the 30 over motor. Console shifter.
The interior is very plush and comfortable. Cold working air conditioning! With the exception of the dash pad (which cracking is common with, and also will come with a nice dash cover) the interior is perfect. The car cosmetically over all is in extremely good condition. All original interior. Power windows and doors (including the little windows in the back). All the gauges work including the aftermarket gauges mounted unobtrusively below, displaying RPM and oil pressure.
It's an absolutely beautiful car. I have never seen a prettier green color. It shines so beautifully in the sun. The new black soft top compliments the green perfectly. It hides dirt surprisingly well. I didn't have to use my California Duster much at the shows. And the soft, light brown interior brings everything together. You must see in person to appreciate it.
