1958 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:
Absolutely iconic style, dual-quad V8 power, and some great details all come together on this 1958 Chevrolet Corvette. So you'll love the mix of originality and upgrades that make this true classic the kind that you love driving, too.
The 1958 Corvette gets remembered for bringing a lot of different elements together. It was the debut for the four headlights up front, and it's the only year for the washboard louvered hood. In the rear, the integrated exhaust looked a little meaner, and the single-year silver streaks on the trunk added sophistication. In fact, with the added touch of refinement, this car deserves a paint like Tuxedo Black. It was an upgrade later in life. So the black retains a nice shine while still not being too fancy to make you nervous about enjoying the drive. Plus, everything you love about these first-generation Corvettes are in place. The side coves have a separate silver color, the smile of the nine-tooth grille is in bright chrome, a hardtop comes with the sale, and you even have proper whitewall tires w/correct wheel covers. Overall, there is a sense of quality that comes from great-looking panels and good body gaps to show off the curvaceous style that made the C1 an icon.
The all-black interior looks especially nice against the all the black on the exterior, so this is a great one for open-top fun. There was a solid investment here with good-looking bucket seats, a smooth dash, and plush carpeting. You get the classic/grippy three-spoke steering wheel, and beyond that, the full gauges are crisp and clear, including the working tach. Corvette fans have likely sported by now that this is a power windows car. This is the first year for the features, and they are working nicely. So if it's factory-installed, it also gives this a ton of rarity (only about 650 examples were made.) And while you'll love the vintage presentation, right down to the Wonderbar AM radio, there is another cool secret. This has a hidden AM/FM/CD stereo that connects to a full subwoofer speaker system. So you get some great upgraded driving music.
Under the hood is an era-correct 283 cubic-inch V8 that's believed to be original to the car. Everything from the broad and bright air grabber, to the finned Corvette valve covers look like the correct pieces for a stock '58 Corvette. Plus, as you peek into the motor a bit more you see this was done with dual Carter four-barrel carburetors for proper C1 power. It fires up nicely, and the Powerglide transmission is great for both automatic cruising and quarter-mile runs. And as you look underneath the car, you'll see nice upgrades like newer coilover shocks and traction bars on the rear.
Complete with Maintenance records, this is the C1 that comes from the right year, has the right features, and has the right upgrades. It makes for a total package you need right now. Call today!!!
