1971 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:
Rare and desirable, high performance LT-1 roadster. It has it's numbers matching motor, 4-speed and rear end. Same owner the last 18 years. It's been very well maintained and shows very nicely.
EXTERIOR: 5 ft away the car is a showstopper. Repainted red, it has a glossy finish. There are flaws in the paint if you look for them- nicks, touch ups and miner cracks. The raised hood proudly announces there's a special motor underneath it. The vacuum headlights and the wiper door open properly. The bumpers front and back are shiny and sit level. The windshield is crystal clear. Door jambs are clean, weather strips are good. It has the original VIN number sticker on the door. The black convertible top is real nice. It had as original antenna, correct exhaust tips coming out through the valance and 15x8 rally wheels. The trim rings are new. The Goodyear tires look good.
INTERIOR: Overall I would call this an unabused, very nice interior. It features leather upholstery, tilt-telescopic wheel and a retro stereo. Brand new carpet front to back was just installed at a Corvette restoration shop. Dash pad has no cracks, all the instruments and center console is in very good shape. It has the 6,500 red line tachometer, correct for an LT-1. It has the correct 4-speed shifter with reverse lock out. Door panels are very nice overall, you might find a small Nick or crack. The leather is soft on the seats.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Vin # matching performance LT-1 350 motor. It makes 330 hp and 360 lbs of torque. Correct GM aluminum intake and # matching Holley carb. The entire compartment looks factory correct- correct open element air cleaner, ignition shielding, stock exhaust manifolds. The radiator, fan and shroud all look proper. Hoses and wires look proper. It has original deep groove pulleys to prevent the belts from flying off this high revving engine. It also features 2 very desirable features- power steering and power brakes.
UNDERSIDE: The bottom of the motor is very clean. The Muncie trans is clean. It's a vin # matching M-20 4-speed. Original 3.55 rear end in back. It has optional chambered exhaust system, sounds great. The front end looks like it has been gone through, bushings were replaced. Bushings in the rear suspension were replaced too. The frame is solid. Floors are good. The spare tire carrier is complete. It has independent suspension front and back. Disc brakes at all four wheels.
The price is really right on this one! I looked, the next cheapest one is $10,000 more. A #s matching 4 speed, LT-1 roadster with power steering and brakes won't come along at this price. Don't regret missing this deal!
