1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Additional Info:
1957 Chevy nomad, 1 of just over 6000 made. 1957 was lowest production of the nomads. California car, Los Angeles built, per the vin number built March 4, 1957.
This is a 2 owner car that was purchased new in south Los Angeles possibly Felix Chevrolet. It left California in 1984 and came to Va. the car was parked shortly after and has never been on the road again. The old California plate still here with the license plate frame from the town it was from Visalia, California
This car came from the factory with 1 piece California chassis and 1 piece front bumper. matador red, white top, black and red interior. This info per the cowl tag, see pics. The car has factory power steering, power brakes, electric wipers, auto trans. The car was at least a 283 4 barrel, power pack car. Rumored to be a 283 with 2 carbs car new!!I can’t prove it though. The engine was changed out in the early 60’s with a new Gm replacement short block. The suffix pad on the engine block is blank. The car still retains all its options, factory bel air hub caps in the back of the car along with all the interior stainless trim. The car rolls and steers. The car is pretty much complete. The top skin is solid, pinch welds around the roof are good. A pillars are solid, firewall is solid, doors are fixable, most all important trim is here.
The bad is: the car sat outside next to a wood shed since 1985, the shed caught fire at some point and exposed the passenger side of the car to some heat.
The chassis will need replaced due to rust along with the floors and a passenger rear quarter panel. This is going to need a full restoration. The car does not run or drive.
The back story on this car is awful. It has been sitting for years with an owner thinking they were going to restore it. Unfortunately he never got to do it and died. His family finally agreed to let it go. This car deserves to be brought back to her former glory!!! Car will be sold with a BILL OF SALE, DOES NOT HAVE TITLE, EBAY MADE ME MARK THE TITLE CLEAN. This is a no reserve auction!! High bidder gets it!! 500.00 deposit due with 48 hours of auction ending. Balance to be paid in full within 7 days of auction ending. The car can be left here for up to 30 days after it’s paid for to get transport or pick up in order. Please ask us any questions you have. Thank you for your interest and looking!!
