1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Additional Info:
This is everything you want. A real-deal 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 with upgraded big block power, four-on-the-floor, and a well-done suspension. Oh yeah, this hardtop is ready to eat some asphalt!
We love the '67 Chevelle because this coupe has a look of substance. Sharply pointed fenders, a crisp crease down the profile, and a hint of sophistication with the flying buttresses on the C-pillar. Plus, bright chrome bumpers, updated blue paint, and well-fitting panels give this a look that will get you respect at the stoplights. But none of its too nice that it will make you nervous to take out this real-deal SS396 to be properly enjoyed. And since this is a true Super Sport it's done with your favorite parts, too. The dual power bulge hood, ribbed rockers, correct SS badging, and black panels front & rear all add to the sporty appeal. The 17-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels have a classic style that fist with the coupe, but the larger size allows for better tires.
A black interior always seems to get the SS attitude right. These Chevelles were the intermediate-sized Chevys back in the '60s, and today that means plenty of room to carry family and friends. But as much as this can accommodate others, it's the driver that will always take priority. That's why you have bucket seats up front and a center console in-between. The grippy three-spoke SS steering wheel looks like a factory item, and it has the thin style to give you a clear view to the cool/classic speedometer that's as long as the horizon. The shifter is like a bright beacon calling out for your right hand, and ahead of that are cleanly installed SunPro gauges. So this is a well-done driver's setup.
Under the hood, the clean color-matched inner walls funnel attention to plenty of big block power in the middle. This is a year-correct 396 cubic-inch V8. The bold orange block, bright valve covers, and matching polished air grabber give this a good look. But what you'll really love is the upgraded substance. This V8 has a mild cam, Demon four-barrel carburetor, and long tube headers feeding a newer stainless dual exhaust. There are even the right supporting components, like an MSD ignition and an aluminum radiator. This is a strong motor that pulls hard, and you get to enjoy it to the fullest with the smooth-shifting four-speed manual transmission. As you look underneath, you'll recognize a thick sway bar and newer springs up front. In the rear is the proper SS setup with reinforced trailing arms, a sway bar, and a 12-bolt rear end. Add in power brakes w/discs up front and modern ZR-rated performance tires, and you get proper control over this Super Sport.
A true SS396 with healthy big block power and a four-speed is truly an awesome experience. So why wait for tomorrow when you can call today!
