1978 Chevrolet Luv Pickup Additional Info:
Purchased from original owner in 1993 with 26,000 actual miles. Drove summer months only until 2003, when the truck went into storage. This summer, I removed the gas tank and it was flushed and cleaned. New fuel filter installed. Fuel pump and carburetor were ok. New flex lines to the front calibers were installed, as well as new rear wheel cylinders and a new master cylinder. Truck has a new Interstate battery and starter. I've put about 100 test miles on the truck and it runs great. Oil pan and trans pan have a slight seepage, but do not drip a drop on the floor. No other leaks noted. Truck still has the original headlights. The paint is original on the truck except the front fenders. The fenders were scratched in 1980 when the V8 conversion was done and they were repainted at that time. In the late 1980's a small rust spot appeared on the lower left fender. The rust spot was fixed by the original owner and the fender repainted again. The fenders look fine from 10 feet, but up close there is a little checking in the paint. The truck was ziebarted when new. The fact that it was never driven in the snow is more the reason it has survived living in Illinois. Upgrades include the Centerline wheels and BF Goodrich tires. I also replaced the exhaust (it had cherry bombs with turn downs...too loud and dust all over the place when leaving the driveway.) The exhaust was replaced with duals front to back with Flowmasters and HEI ignition. The truck has mechanical Stewart Warner oil and water gauges and a Sun tachometer...all old school. Interior is stock, otherwise. Probably forgetting something, so please ask any questions before you bid/buy.
