Wow, has this car has got the look. Immaculate doesn't begin to describe this pro-touring 1956 Chevy Bel Air show car which recently completed a high-level frame-off restoration. Without question, this is one of the nicest 56 Chevy's available in North Carolina, and quite possibly the entire U.S. The current owner bought the car in 1968 after returning home from a tour of duty in Vietnam. In the early years of ownership this car had a Corvette 327 with a four speed but then work, kids, and life in general took over. The car was stored away in garages until 2007 when the owner decided to go all out on the car of his youth. A painstaking restoration ensued and the result is the amazing machine you see here. Since the complete rotisserie restoration, only a few thousand break-in miles have been put on this car to date. Being a rust-free southern car to start with, this car was able to retain all its original body panels and floor pans during the restoration. The metal in this car is all-Amercian, the way it should be. The paint finish is amongst the best we've ever seen and is a beautiful BASF blue with white pearl. It would be an understatement to say that the body, panel work, finish and shine of this car is show-quality. The finish on this car isn't just show quality - it's show stopping. As you can see, the paint pops from every angle just like it should, and it looks even better in person than the pictures can do it justice.Inside you'll find a custom leather interior that looks amazing with a flow through center console, hidden speakers, custom AC vents, and very comfortable seating. Modern amenities such as power windows, power locks, and power seats were added to improve driving enjoyment. Custom Machine tilt steering, Ron Francis wiring, Classic Instruments gauges, and Vintage AC were all used in this build. However, the Ultra Leather interior work wasn't limited to just the interior of the car; the trunk of this Chevy has seen the same attention to detail as the driver's space, and there's even a small flat screen in the trunk where you can see pictures of the car throughout its history, including the no-expense-spared restoration. At the heart of the beast sits a brand new GM Performance 502 CI with 502 horsepower that's backed by a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed manual. Out back sits a sturdy Ford 9 inch rear end that's housing 3.70 gears inside. This car's entire frame was painted body color and all unneeded holes were filled and seams removed for a smooth finish. A spring kit was installed so the body need not be tubbed to fit the massive 10 inch tires riding out back. A custom front cross member was fabricated so the exhaust could pass through and keep things tight up under the body. This car was restored to be the very best it could be, and that mantra certainly rings true when it comes the mechanics of this amazing machine. We have a lot more details and specs available on this car, so please inquire. Several DVD's are included that photographically document the car's restoration. If you've just got to have the best 56 Chevy out there this is your car. Call today.
