1974 Chevrolet G20 Van Sportsman Additional Info:
1974 G20 "Chevy Van"
ONE OWNER Zero rust!! (except for the light surface rust in bed because of a factory pad and carpet in it for years). Equipped with A/C, Power Brakes/Power Steering, Cruise Control, Panel Windows....88k miles. I still have my Uncles Original "Bill of Sale" and paperwork. He used it sparingly to go back and forth to his home in Birmingham to the Strategic Missile Command in Huntsville AL. He started to "bump" things with it as he's aged. My sister in laws garage divider was the last straw. You can see the back drivers side close to the brake light is the only dent. He gave it to me last season and I've been a good steward. My brother thought it prudent to put an "additive" in the transmission (that already functioned marvalously, like the rest of the van) and it ruined the trans in short order. I just had a "FULL and TOTAL" rebuild with an invoice and warranty last week from a competent and well known transmission and drivetrain shop here locally with warranty. It also has been given a "full" tune-up and other various usual maintenance work. The brakes are 90% all around. The tires aren't new but are matching and plenty of tread. There's NO slop in the suspension or steering. It rides, drives and tracks marvelously. (Especially for 42 year old technology.) The paint is original and a "20 footer" but still looks good. Kept inside so all of the "rubbers" and door seals are soft and not deteriorated. The dash isn't cracked up and a deep tread spare tire is in place. I'd, personally, drive it anywhere in the states to where I needed to. No gas pumping. Turn the key once and it starts right up. No weird noises. Tracks and drives straight. No smoking......a good vehicle!!Mileage will vary slightly because I use it from time to time.My wife and I have four kids under 10yrs old, two minivans, a 1971 Skylark Custom (I've had since school) and I'm being gently but steadily pushed to find one of the "old cars" a home. Love the van....but that's my Buick and I won't sell it. I'm going to put it on various sites so it may not last the duration of auction. Please feel free to call with any and all questions BEFORE the end of the auction.A good looking survivor that runs like a MUCH newer vehicle. It'd be nice to see someone not use it as a hardcore work van but it'd to the job! 350-4bbl/350 Turbohydromatic (never "towed" anything but the gears are low....something like 3.55 or 3.73 positive traction). And please bring cash.
