Introduced for the 1963 model year, the C2 generation of Corvette was an instant hit. The car was new with now iconic styling. The early Resto-Mod/Pro Touring Corvettes are a hot item. So here is the look of an iconic 1967 Coupe that will give you all the satisfaction of late model performance, braking, handling, and drivability in one package. The Corvette is titled as a 1966 with the original VIN plate and trim tag installed from GM. Since one of the most desirable of all Corvettes was the 1967, this car was upgraded to the five angled side vents changed from the 3 vertical on the 1966. Other features changed was a single oblong backup light above the license plate, the parking brake lever moved into the center console, and the passenger hand-hold above glove was eliminated. This car represents the best appearance of Corvette from 1963 to 1967 and what Chevrolet has accomplished in the 2000's.
The Corvette has a Street Shop frame. They are the builder of one of the finest replacement chassis available for 53-82 Corvette. This car has the Street Shop's exclusive serpentine system, a Mustang II steering rack, heavy duty 13" Grand Sport Power Brakes with drilled and slotted rotors, a Dana 44 rear end with 3:45 gears and a coil over system that are all part of the patented Street Shop chassis.
The engine is a new GM LS-2 400hp crate motor.Other components are a custom Griffin radiator designed for LS engines, a Flex-a-lite shrouded electric fan, and a Rock Valley Fuel tank with internal electric pump. Wheels are custom made Halibrand, tires are 275-40R-17 Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals. The 9½ inch wide tires fit nicely under the C2 Corvette and required no modification to fit on the Street Shop chassis. The transmission is a Tremec Classic Chevy 5- Speed Elite Ultimate Fit TKO-600.
The all new black interior is original in appearance. The two tone gray and ebony leather seats are 2006 Z06 with driver’s side power adjustable and a three point seat/shoulder belts system. The Air Conditioning system is Classic Auto Air of Tampa Florida, the floor boards, firewall, headliner, and doors have Thermo-Tec insulated underlayment for a quiet, cool ride.Gauges were restored by Roger's Clocks and he provided a voltmeter and an electronic Tach original in appearance, the radio is an Auto Custom Sound with dual 6 inch Roger’s speakers in the dash grill and pair in the kick panels. The system has a port for a CD player.
The outstanding paint on the car is 1967 Lynndale Blue with a silver hood stinger. The Corvette is simply stunning. The beautiful mirror finish chrome bumpers were done by Knox Custom Chrome. The restoration was completed to high standards and the car presents extremely nicely. The paintwork is outstanding, as are the chrome, stainless, wheels and all new glass. The interior is also new to include the upholstery, door panels, dashboard, carpets, instruments and switches.
