1971 Chevrolet Corvette LT1 Additional Info:
Car located in vero beach Florida.1971 Corvette LT1, 350 cu. in. 330 horse, 4 speed, with 81,880 milesColor: Brands Hatch Green, with Dark Saddle interior. This is a two-owner car. All chrome is original and in good condition. The paint is in great condition considering it is a 48 year old lacquer finish. As far as I am aware, this car was painted once by the selling dealer under warranty There is a small crack in the paint by each door handle, which the photos show. I replaced the Hood header support because the rivets in the original support were causing pimples, which is common in C3's. (this in the area between the headlights and the hood) After replacing the support, the pimples disappeared and are now very slight dimples - but in the process, I put some minor nicks that needed to be touched up. You have to look very closely to see them. I have included photos showing all of these spots. Undercarriage completely rebuilt, mechanically from front to back. - Replaced seat covers and foam, door panels, dash pad, and carpets. The rest of the interior is original and in good condition. - Removed the drive train, all the suspension, front and rear, front cross member, radiator and saddle, bumper brackets, and headlight assemblies.- Rebuilt the headlight assemblies, sandblasted, primed and painted all other suspension and steering parts front and rear.- Steam cleaned all underneath the car including the frame, wheel wells and engine bay.- Replaced a-frames dust covers and tie rod ends.-Rebuilt steering relay rod, new ball joints; upper and lower, new brake calibers, pads, and hoses from frame to calibers; front and rear.- Replaced front stabilizer bar, mounts, bushings, link bushings, washers, and spacers.- Installed new front wheel bearings.- Replaced rear wheel bearing assemblies.- Installed Heavy Duty Van Steel trailing arms and strut rods- Installed new rear leaf spring, mounting kit and bushings, new shocks; front and rear, secondary parking brake cable- Installed 4 new tires; the spare tire is original and has never been used.- Front and rear end have been aligned.- The gas tank has been removed, inspected and cleaned.- Replaced the alternator, starter, water pump, fan clutch and fuel pump.- All new s/s fuel lines between pump to carburetor- New motor mounts and complete 2.5 in. exhaust system- Complete carburetor rebuild- New choke thermostat, new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, U joints, new coil, plugs, plug wires, electronic ignition, cap, rotor, all new headlight and wiper vacuum system and hoses. The engine runs great; has 35 lbs. oil pressure at idle. The engine is a factory warranty replacement as per the serial number CEA133693, CEA indicates it is a certified engine that can only come from a GM dealer thru a warranty. Transmission is the original M21, 4 speed, so it could be considered numbers matching. The car runs and drives like new. It is being sold with an extra set of T Tops, translucent green Astro T Tops; made by Thompson Astro Tops and Performance Parts, in Florence Alabama. Sale includes the original owner’s manual, original warranty folder with the attached PROTECT-O-PLATE. After many hours of research it looks like there were 1,949 LT1 Coups built in ‘71 and only 25 with code 983 Brands Hatch Green paint and code 417 Dark Saddle interior. This would make a nice daily driver or a Sunday car. I have too many projects and not enough room, hate to let it go, but I must. For more pictures or info please free to message me.
