This S-10 is a former hospital fleet truck that was purchased by the same employe who used it and drove it for the hospital so this truck is truly a one owner truck in a very unique way! The owner was very meticulous with servicing the S-10 and it carries multiple custom service intervals printed on labels in the cab and under the hood. The overall condition of the truck is extremely clean and tidy and it must be extremely difficult to find another 1980’s S-10 in this condition! This truck was made in February 1987. Finished in white with a tan pinstripe, the truck’s paint and trim are in overall very good order. The bodywork is straight and solid, the engine bay is extremely tidy. The cargo bed is clean and looks good wearing its bedliner and cargo light. There’re a black front and black rear corrugated bumpers complemented by a pair of black below-eyeline sideview mirrors. This S-10 rolls on Michelin NS Rain Force MX4 radials, mounted on steel wheels with white trim rings and factory chrome caps. The tires and wheel covers are all in very good condition. The battery was replaced on May 17, 2019. A new air-conditioning compressor was put on July 1, 2005 at 124,563 miles followed by a new evaporator on June 6, 2006 at 125,324 miles. A new radiator was installed in December 2019. A new power brake booster installed on April 13, 2013. A new 2.8L V-6 (code LL2) engine with throttle-body fuel injection was installed on June 6, 1997 at 113,962 miles, meaning the current engine reportedly has just over 34,500 miles on it now. A 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission back the motor, along with a 3.42:1 rear differential. Driver convenience equipment includes air-conditioning, power steering and power disc/drum brakes. General service labels on the driver’s doorjamb run from March 29, 1998 @ 114,997 miles to November 11, 2011 @ 127,051 miles. This truck really has been mechanically cared for in the past.Inside, the truck’s original Light Saddle vinyl upholstery covers the bench seat and is in great, original order, as is the black rubberized floor matting, which could be hosed out when needed. The tan cloth headliner is in very good order before it gives way at the rear white painted metal. A two-spoke steering wheel faces the driver. The dashboard, with its split headlight controls (one for the parking lights; the other for all lights), ribbon-style speedometer and fuel gauge and a cabin-wide cargo shelf mounted at the driver’s knee. Additional storage is available in the glovebox and behind the bench seat. The column-mounted shift lever looks good and a factory AM radio completes the interior. The 1987 model year did not involve any obviously visible changes to the S-10, but there was one small tweak under the hood. Chevrolet added a serpentine drive belt to replace the standard V-belts for both the 2.5-liter and 2.8-liter engines. The first compact truck from the big three automakers was the rebadged Isuzu KB sold since 1972 as the Chevrolet LUV, and Ford quickly responded with the Mazda-built Ford Courier the same year. However, the 1973 Arab oil embargo forced GM to consider designing a domestically produced compact pickup truck. As usual, parts from other GM chassis lines (primarily from the GM G-body intermediates) were incorporated. Track width was similar to the former GM H-body subcompacts (Vega/Monza). The first S-series pickups were introduced in 1981 for the 1982 model year. The base engine (manufactured in Japan and imported) was a 1.9L Isuzu four-cylinder (RPO LR1) shared with the LUV and Isuzu P'UP, with a 2.8L V-6 as an option. The Chevrolet and GMC models were identical apart from the grille, tailgate and assorted insignia. An extended cab and “Insta-Trac” four-wheel drive were added the next year along with two new engines - a 2.0L four-cylinder engine (RPO LQ2) from the J-platform automobiles along with an Isuzu 2.2L (RPO LQ7) four-cylinder diesel engine. Competition to this S-10 in 1987 included Dodge’s Ram 50, Ford’s Ranger, GMC’s S-15, Isuzu’s P’Up, Mazda’s B-series, Mitsubishi’s Mighty Max, Nissan’s Hardbody and Toyota’s Hilux.VIN: 1GCCS14R3H8168511 This truck is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 148,483 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt Missouri title.GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
