1966 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Additional Info:
The Corvair was a big turning point to the muscle car era and one that holds a strong automotive history to its name. Developed and produced for the 1960 model year and up to 1969. The important aspect of this gorgeous car is that it is a Corsa convertible which was only produced in 1965-66 and very limited production in terms of all Corvairs. Only 3,142 Corvairs with the Corsa option ever existed and very few remain today in this kind of condition. This Corsa model is documented by the proper VIN decoding and 140HP engine with a gauge cluster.
Bought new on November 22nd of 1966 from DeHaven Chevrolet in Fort Wayne Indiana to a Mr. Charles Bell where he lovingly took care of this car up to 2013. Original documentation from the purchase, buyers order, Protect –O-Plate, owner's manual, shop manual, original title, original inspection, and registration accompany this vehicle. Mileage and travel documentation included on their initial trips and service records. Even the original license plate comes with this fine automobile. Car was cared for and it is evident that it was used sparingly since new given the original mileage of 64k miles. Car was sold in 2013 to gentleman in Leo, Indiana where he took the car to where it is today. Full restoration was done to this car including much more than listed; full body restoration with all panels painted and properly adjusted, all new chrome bumpers and trim features, all new carpet along with new seat covers and door panels. Brand new custom period correct gray top that matches the rear tail light assembly that was factory equipped. Most convertibles look better with top down, but with this deviation of color, this might be the most stunning Corvair in existence. Further enhancements include new rally wheels with brand new BF Goodrich white letter tires and new boot cover for the convertible top. Engine was gone thru and proper engine out service with engine bay cleaned, painted and all fittings were new. New insulation cover was installed and stickers to represent how the car was delivered when new. New clutch, exhaust, bearings, fuel pump, gas tank, sending unit, brakes, dual exhaust, battery, ignition, retro Custom Autosound stereo with AUX hookup, new dash, new vents, and many more items were installed and fitted properly.
The car remains in excellent condition with less than 200 miles logged since many of the repairs. The car looks like a million bucks and demands attention. With only two owners since new and the rarity that this car represents, this is a wise investment no matter what you think of the Corvair, with low production numbers and a huge cult following...this is the one to buy.
