Without a doubt you're looking at one of the most interesting vintage trucks around that will be the hit of any car show. It also happens to be far more drivable than any of its contemporaries. This restored 1936 Chevrolet pickup has great paint, outstanding wood in the bed, and the inline-six has a modern five-speed attached for enhanced usability.By 1936, pickup trucks had evolved to be more than just passenger cars with a bed, but that didn't mean this Chevy skipped a trip to the styling department. With a handsome V-shaped grille, flowing fenders, and plenty of chrome, it looks far more expensive than it is that was as true in 1936 as it is today. This fully restored example really strikes a nice balance between hot rod style upgrades and the fundamentals that give an 80+ year-old vehicle well-earned dignity. It starts with the black paint. It's a symbol of the simplicity of a good pickup, but the modern glossy and shine also highlights the curvaceous restored body. The new oak wood in the bed is a great distinction against the glossy black. Plus, the chrome is in good order as well, with an optional front bumper and wonderfully ornate grille screen. The interior follows the exterior's example that provides a sleek black appearance that mixes the best of the new and old worlds. It starts with the vinyl bench seat that has stitching to give individual comfort to the driver and passenger, so you know it's vastly more comfortable than anything that came out of the 30s. Your left hand goes on the three-spoke steering wheel, and your right one rest comfortably on the shifter a truly nice hot rod setup. But as you peek through the wheel, you see the cool original-style AC gauges. Now if you look closer, there's also an added voltage meter and tach on either side of the tilt steering column.Under the hood is a Chevy six-cylinder pickup motor. Not only did the company build its backbone of reliability on the inline-six, but also this pickup offers extra power of a much larger 261 cubic-inch unit from what is believed to be a 1961 truck. Added to this is Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission. This pricy upgrade gives the torquey motor a much better defined powerband that will get up better from stoplights AND make highway speeds very manageable. So with the modern tires on the Corvette-style rally wheels, this pickup not only looks great, but also it is genuinely a versatile vintage machine. You looked through all the photos. You've seen how tidy this pickup is, even in the undercarriage. It's a true classic that has great power upgrades for usability and fun, but it never loses its 1930s bedrock spirit. It even has the owner's manual for you to show off when people ask for more info. This is a truly interesting and nicely restored Chevy pickup that will get people talking because of its high quality and gorgeous execution.
