1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Additional Info:
Up for auction is a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Convertible.Just out of 38 years dry barn storage. I will give you as much history as I know of about the car. Originally the car had a 283 V-8 but when the car was aprox 10 years old the owner installed a 1969 327 V-8. It is a 3 Speed Manual on the column car. Aprox 20 years ago the car was taken apart sent out and had alacquerpaint job of the original color Mist Blue. It was then put back in storage and never put back together. While in storage there was a light scrape on passenger rear quarter and nicks in the paint here and there. The right guy could blend these in and save the paint job. When we purchased it, it was missing numerous parts so we chased down a few 66 Chevelle parts cars in order to put this back together. The body is exceptionally solid and straight. Beautiful frame, excellent floors, braces, inner and outer rockers, etc. The only rust was a couple of small cracks in the trunk pan which we did a repair and respackled it. All the sheet metal on the car is original to the car except passenger door. I have no idea why it was replaced. Still wearing its original quarters that have not been cut. I cleaned the floor pan and primed it so you could see how nice it is. Originally had a bench seat but both seats were missing. We bought the correct style bucket seats and theconvertible back seat but will need upholstering. I did not drill the inside holes for the front bucket seats in case you are going back to bench but I do have the floor braces for the bucket seats that will be included. The original door panels need replaced but we have both back rear upper panels new to go with it. We installed a nice dash pad. Will need a top but the bows are in excellent condition and go up and down fine. By the way this is a manual top car. We installed a new carburetor, plugs, did an oil change and the car runs super. Will need new exhaust as the dual exhaust on the car has holes here and there. We cleaned the master brake cylinder and got the brakes up and working. We cleaned the fuel tank, hooked it back up and works fine. Got all the lights working with the exception of the tail lights (needs good sockets). The steering column shift lever had been broken off so we attached it back with clamps so you could at least shift it into gear for yard moving. We did purchase another standard shift complete column that will be included. Purchased (4) beautiful 8 inch Corvette RallyWheels with new tires, excellent trim rings and center caps. A few of the moldings are not great and should be replaced. We have the rocker moldings to the car but they are just so so. Have a few extra parts that go with the car. If you are looking for a Chevelle Convertible with great bones then this is it. Spend a week on it and you could probably be driving it and finish it as you go along. We also have a good condition Muncie 4 Speed Trans for extra $ if interested. We may have forgotten something but give us a call and we will go over everything with you. We have a current Maine Registration and proper dealer paperwork should you need a title in your state. If you need more info or pics feel free to call or email us. Phone: 1(207)432-2862. We require a $1000 non refundable deposit at end of sale and balance due within (3) days of auctions end.
