1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Additional Info:
Nice 1968 136 code Chevelle with a big block bored 454 race motor. NOT original motor. Cleanest Chevelle body you will find under $30,000. Clean floor pans, trunk pan and body panels. Paint is not “best of show” level, but pretty nice. $10,000 race motor and transmission included. Rebuilt 3 speed 350 turbo automatic with manual valve body and 3500 stall converter with a new B&M Pro stick shifter. Roll bar, line lock, driveshaft loop, tach, shift light, fuel cell, front disc brakes, new carpet and headliner. Bench front seat with no rear seat. Motor is bored 40 over and has 12.5-1 pistons, cast crank, square port open chamber heads, needle bearing rocker arms and a freshly rebuilt 1050 Holley Dominator carburetor. Compression is between 190-200 lbs on all 8 cylinders, with written proof from highly regarded shop. Car runs on aviation gas or race gas currently. Engine builder estimates the motor has 525 HP. Builders name and number will be provided at sale. Rebuilt 4.10 ratio 10 bolt posi-traction rear end. New 215/65R15 IROC rims and tires all around.
Previous owner had started the car build and passed away before getting it finished. I have put less than 40 street miles on the car and have made many of the improvements listed. I have not put the car on the track either. The car is a beast! I’m 63 and the power is too much for me. Will burn rubber at all 3 shifts. Race tires would help that! Has brake lights, but would need wipers, horn and all other lights and wiring hooked up to pass inspection.
NO JOYRIDES! I’ll be happy to take you for a short drive and mechanic checks are welcome, but if you want to drive it, bring the cash to buy it. Buyer is responsible for transportation. Thanks for looking!
