This real deal 1966 rare beauty was professionally restored several years ago with a rotisserie style restoration at a reputable body shop. While the car was getting the overall treatment that was so well deserved, the 1966 period correct big block (Engine Code IV) 396/325hp power plant, was removed and freshened up from top to bottom, with a Edelbrock carbureto, Aluminum intake and modern cast iron heads as part of the restoration.
The Hooker headers with 3” piping, paired to the flow master mufflers give the big block breathing room and produces a head turning, healthy sound that always gives you a thumbs up from the cars sitting next to you at the stop lights.
Up nex, the old transmission was removed and updated with a bullet proof Monster Performance 700R, to make those interstate rides in overdrive, a pleasurable driving experience. The original 4 link suspension, 10 bolt rear end was also serviced with fresh fluids and carefully checked/inspected for any unusual wear and all original drivetrain components was determined in good working order.
The power top was completely rebuilt with all new hydraulic pump, hoses, wiring, hinges, bows and topped off with a period correct heavy duty black convertible top.
Now on to the Interior, The car had also went through complete and extensive reupholstering keeping the factory black bucket seats, door panels, console and carpeting. As you can see in the pictures the factory console and gauges adds a nice touch.
The Cooper Cobra tires are nearly new(less than 100 miles) wrapped around 4 Chip Foose custom rims.
Actual mileage of the car is unknown and not required due to the age of the car.
Is it all original, pristine and in flawless condition you ask?
Absolutely not… IF this is what you are looking for, I’m sorry but, this is not one. It does have a blend of newer performance parts to give you that hot rod feel while cruising on your favorite stretch of two lane scenic highway. I personally would rate this car high above average condition. Although, I would say that It wouldn’t take much to get it ready for the next local car show for braggin’ rights.
Keep an open mind, It does have its few cosmetic flaws and little quirks like most older cars have, that are this age, but nothing major that would cause concern .
I strive to be as thorough and transparent as possible, to provide as much detailed and accurate information in my descriptions, But sometimes you inadvertently miss something along the way. Please refer to all the pictures for details. If you see something, I will do my best to answer any and all questions that may arise.
I purchased this car about 4 years ago, and kept it in a climate controlled garage, with all intentions of keeping it forever, and have spent thousands of dollars over the years, updatingthe car, to make it better than the day it rolled out of the factory with today’s performance parts.
But sometimes life happens and unfortunately for me, I have become physically disabled and can no longer drive and enjoy this car as I once wanted . So, I have decided to cut my losses and sell my pride and joy to someone that can enjoy it as I once have.
