1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Additional Info:

This 1970 Monte Carlo is set up professionally for the quarter mile track. The current owner was in the middle of setting up an NOS system when she decided to sell the car. The car boasts a small block 400 with a turbo 400 transmission plus a line lock system and custom shifter. Current recorded times at Bremerton and Pacific Raceways ranged from 10.2 to 10.4 with the current stock set up on the car.
If you wanted, there is so much more one could do to make this a 9 second car, it's ridiculous. By reducing the weight left on the car, you could easily be in the 9 second bracket. You see, the current owner was caught between wanting to continue racing it, or taking it back to a street car.
Right now it is set up as a professionally built race car. The cars full roll cage is track ready and built specifically for this car. The engine and transmission were balanced and blueprinted with the track as its sole purpose. Your five point harness is race ready with safety in mind. If you'd like to record yourself going down the track, there is a camera system set up with controls at your fingertips. The mechanic on this car has been the same mechanic since the 70's so he is pretty familiar with the car from then to now. Safety was always on his mind since both drivers (Mother, now Daughter) were extremely important to him.
What better car to buy than one with a history of consistency.
Now, if you want to take the car back to street legal let's go ahead and finish out the exhaust system and connect some nice mufflers to the headers. Let's also remove the seat that's in there and use the painless wire harness to connect all the original lights, gauges, etc. Our client has many other parts for the car including seats. Personally, for street use, I would lower the back end a few inches, but no more than that. It wont take more than a weekend's work or a day at our shop to get this race car street legal. Locally there is plenty of trick fuel to be bought.
Like I said, our client has a large number of parts for this car. Parts that will help it on the track and parts that will help take it back to street legal.
This car in it's current racing condition with extra parts can be purchased for $15,750. Being a quarter mile driver myself, I don't know of any car this well equipped that is turnkey and can be bought for this low amount.

The motor was built by an auto repair shop owner. It is a 400 Chevy small block boarded to about a 423. The heads are aluminum 221 CC Runners custom built by DG Machine. The transmission is a 400 with a trans break. The rear end is a GM 10 bolt with a custom differential, 410 gears. The torque converter is a 9" Hughes with a 4500 stall.
The owner still has the original back seat, original motor parts, and much more.
