1968 Chevrolet Chevelle 2 door coupe Additional Info:
1968 Chevelle. Rare post car. I will tell you all I know about the car and also what I was told. The car was bought out of an estate. The owner built the car to drag race but never got to go to the track as he passed away. His nephew inherited this and other cars but had no interest in cars so he let a dealer sell it.Here is what I know for sure: 383 stroker motor. TH 400 transmission. 12 bolt posi rear. Disc front, drum rear. Victor Jr intake, Holley 1050 dbl pumper, electric water pump, chrome alternator, new aluminum radiator and hoses. MSD ignition and program box, Hooker 3" headers. Valve girdles, new paint. It was a pure drag car set up and has full frame welded roll cage. Fuel cell in trunk and is set up for twin NOS with all lines and solenoids there and in place. The bottles are gone. Battery is in trunk. Doors and windows work. I installed turn, park, high beam, brake and back up lights. Installed horns and wipers so the car can pass safety inspection for street. I bought new adjustable seats and they have 4 point harness belts. Carpet looks brand new. Full gauges with tach. Even has fuel pressure and nitros pressure gauges. Fiberglass hood, front and rear bumper. New door and trunk seals. The car is LAZER straight and 100% rust free. The body is fantastic condition. I have included undercarriage and trunk photos. I can find zero rust or repair anywhere on the car. No indication of bondo either, look inside the trunk. They usually have some rust in there, but like I said, I can find none. I put new rear Weld Draglites with tires and they have less than 10 miles on them. I have taken the car on a shake down drive a couple of times and everything works as it should. Very, very fast. Not for an inexperienced driver. Seems to have about a 2500 stall speed converter but is very streetable. The seller said the rear gears are 411 but I would not know. I have tried to tell you everything I can about the car as I hate surprises myself when I buy on eBay. This is a very nice street Rod, probably faster than most small block Chevelles on the street. It has serious money in the engine as I took off the pan to see steel crank, 4 bolt mains and the honing still looked fresh in the cylinder walls. Dry as a bone underneath and has NO leaks. No smoke at idle or revved. Also has a trans blanket. Heavy duty U joints. I will include a set of rear Draglites with slicks that came on the car so you can street race or drag strip on the weekends. Please ask if you have any questions. I will do my best to answer them for you. This is a no reserve auction. The reserve price of $12,000 might be the selling price if it is the first and only bid over reserve. Good luck and good bidding.
