1972 Chevrolet Blazer CST Additional Info:

Here we have a 1972 Chevy Blazer CST 4x4 powered by a 350 4bolt 4bbl V8 engine, th350 transmission, NP205 transfer case, Dana 44 front and 12 Bolt corporate rear axle. This truck has just finished receiving a full frame off nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. The truck has 12 test miles on it since completion. The odometer shows 23795 and is the original to the truck.Every last part and piece on this Blazer is either restored, new, rebuilt or refinished. If you are in the market for a perfect show piece of a Blazer, this might be what you are looking for. I have owned and or restored over 150 of these 1969-1972 Blazers and Jimmy's so I know them well. I will go through every aspect of this truck in my description which will be lengthy so please bare with me.
This particular Blazer has been off of the road since rite around 1990. The gentlemen I purchased it from tore it apart back then to freshen it up but never did get started. The body on this truck was way above average to begin with due to only being on the road for 18 years. The floors, quarters, rocker boxes, doors, frame, windshield frame etc are all rust free and always have been. The tailgate is NOS GM, about $1000 worth. The doors are original to the truck and have never been rusted or damaged. They are about the nicest set of original blazer doors I've ever seen. The Blazer was disassembled down to absolutely nothing. The body tub was braced throughout to keep it from flexing and was put on my rotisserie and completely glass blasted inside and out top to bottom. All body work was done and the tub as well as all other panels were primered and blocked numerous times. Durring this very lengthy process, everything was cleaned, seam sealed, and sealed way better than the factory ever did it. This Blazer should never ever have any kind of rust or corrosion problems in the future. It would have to be heavily abused on salty roads. All panels were painted separately using PPG Delton Base Clear products in the original color of Medium Blue. The entire interior of the Blazer including up behind the dash, all floors etc. were painted. Afterwards everything was color sanded and buffed using a 3M 3 stage buffing system resulting in a mirror like finish. The paint and body is far higher quality than GM ever put out 50 years ago. The chassis was also 100% disassembled. The frame was blasted and powder coated satin black as well as all crossmembers, core support, pulleys, brackets etc. Dozens and dozens of parts were powder coated. The axles and springs also were completely disassembled, blasted and cleaned and are painted using SEM chassis satin Black paint. The front axle received new ball joints, tie rod ends, brake components, warn hubs, bearings, seals, gaskets etc. The factory posi trac in the rear axle was disassembled and serviced. All gears inside of the housings are in perfect condition. The truck still retains it's original 3.73 gears which had virtually no wear on them. The rear end was converted to disk brakes. All brake lines, master cylinder, and proportioning valve are new and accommodate the rear disk conversion. Both axles are hung using 4 brand new Skyjacker 2.5" soft ride springs to give it a slight suspension lift over stock. Of course all shocks, Ubolts, and steering stabilizers are newl. A combination of new and restored original hard brake and fuel lines were used throughout. The rear brake lines are all stainless braided lines locally built. The Blazer is sitting on new BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KO2's in 33x10.50x15's. The wheels are the originals that are powder coated white. New lug nuts also. Both front and one rear hubcaps are NOS GM. The 4th is a mint original. The engine has been completely rebuilt. The block was hot tanked, honed, all new bearings, rings, Comp Cam 268H and lifters were installed. Oil pump, fuel pump, water pump, alternator, power steering pump etc. The intake is a new Edelbrock Performer with the correct 1972 Quadrajet on it. I also did away with the points ignition system and went with a brand new HEI distributor. Absolutely everything again is either new or rebuilt. Absolutely nothing was overlooked. The exhaust manifolds were ceramic coated, and an entire new aluminized exhaust was built by a local guy thats been building custom exhausts for 40 plus years. The mufflers are Dynomax turbos. It sounds perfect. The transmission was completely rebuilt by Big Sky transmissions in Billings Montana. Also new torque converter. I tore the transfer case down to nothing and completely rebuilt and detailed every part of it. Also the adapter has been restored. Both driveshafts are completely brand new and were built by Inland Truck Parts. The steering box/sector has been rebuilt also. New fuel tank and all rubber hoses throughout are new. All rubber bushings throughout the suspension, engine and trans mounting etc. are all new.Once the chassis was completed and the engine was ran and cam broke in, the body was then mated using all new body bushings and hardeware. The doors were properly aligned during this process. The body bushing thickness has a lot to do with door and fender gaps on a Blazer since it doesn't have a stationary roof for support. I started the assembly with all new firewall pads and worked my way back. Every single piece of wiring is all brand new made by American Auto Wire. There are I think 9 different harness's throughout the truck. The wiring is all exact reproduction of the original stuff. Theres nothing more frustrating then dealing with 50 year old wiring. Even the fuse box is spot on. Very nice stuff. The steering column is a brand new CPP exact reproduction of an original tilt column. They are expensive but much better than dealing with a wore out 50 year old column. I can't say enough good about these columns. New comfort grip steering wheel. New ACC molded carpet, reproduction floor mats, the dash pad is not a cheap repop. Its built off of the original GM tooling and is very nice. The seats were completely restored by Harolds Upholstery in Billings Montana. The upholstery was all hand made by them and is far superior to the cheap mail order covers, All seat parts, brackets etc are powder coated satin black. The drivers seat slides forward and back effortlessly as it should. Passenger seat latches and unlatches with ease. The front door panels are mint original's. The rear side panels are brand new and are amazingly nice. All proper CST side panel trim and brackets are in place. I installed a complete brand new Vintage Air system in the Blazer. Its charged and blows nice and cold. The heat and defrost all work perfect as well. If you are not familiar with Vintage Air, they make bolt in heating and cooling systems for classic vehicles. Each system is built specific for the application it's being used on. They are far superior to the original heating and cooling systems that were installed in these trucks originally. The AC controller is also new.The original radiator was rebuilt by a local radiator shop, obviously all hoses, belts etc are all new. Every last fluid in the truck is new. I used full synthetic in the front, rear, and transfercase. The Grille shell is a new Chromed steel version made by Goodmark. These are high high quality and fit excellent. In my opinion they are superior to the anodized flimsy originals that bend or scratch easily. Both bumpers are also new GM certified Goodmark's. All trim, clips, emblems moldings door handles knobs, switches etc. are either the highest quality reproduction available or new old stock gm. I used all new satin black correct style body bolts throughout the truck. probably close to 150 of them. All of the specialty hardeware was restored. I have a huge collection of original parts and hardeware for these trucks so i'm able to come up with the best original parts for these possible. All lights work throughout the Blazer, turn signals cancel properly, reverse lights work, every single light bulb is new, horn works, cigarette lighter works, radio, wipers, speedometer, fuel gauge, etc. The top is an original 1972 Single Wall top that is in mint shape. I hand picked this top from my top stash. It's as good as one will ever see. Also the hatch is perfect and has never had any damage or repairs done to it. It opens and closes flawlessly. If you've ever spent time trying to fit a hatch to a blazer and get it to open and close properly, you know what a pain in the ass this can be. Both have been completely disassembled, restored throughout and refinished in the correct eggshell white inside and out. Every last piece of weatherstripping has been replaced with new throughout the truck. There are literally no rattles, squeaks or anything of the sort in the truck. The windshield is new, as is the stainless surrounding it. I sent the wing windows off to a guy who completely restored them. About $450 worth but they are gorgeous!! Everything inside of the doors has been properly rebuilt, replaced etc. The door locks, ignition, and glovebox locks all match and are all new. The lights, lenses throughout the truck are a combination of NOS and new GM certified. Absolutely everything you'd expect done to a full professional restoration has been done. The parts and pieces replaced and the work done is just too numerous to mention everything. I have countless hours into this thing bringing it to this degree of quality. This Blazer is absolutely stunning and is of the highest quality you'll see available anywhere. I went all out on this on. No expense spared. The underside is just as nice as the top side, everything is spotless. The Blazer has not been wet since being built. its been wiped down with micro fiber towels and glass cleaner. This thing can be used as a trailer queen from car show to car show, a weekend cruiser, or a daily driver. It's ready to tackle another 50 years of use.Other than the slight 2.5" lift, Air conditioning, and four wheel disk brakes, its pretty much bone stock. Even the original AM radio is in place and plays through the original under dash speaker. Again the work done is too numerous to mention every last thing done. Im leaving out a lot of small parts that were replaced and work done obviously. It would take another half hour to go through every last detail. So please feel free to ask any questions you'd like. I have hundreds of pictures taken throughout the build. I am the builder of this truck so I know literally everything about it. I don't have a big multi million dollar shop with a dozen guys to pay every week so you won't be paying for all of that bs here. Im a simple guy that loves these K5's and have been building them for years and years. Attention to detail is what makes this truck different from most. Its not thrown together for a quick sale like so many others you see on here. However, this one is not cheap, it's not for everyone. But if you want the best, here it is. Again this Blazer has 12 miles on the build and it won't pick up more than another mile or two. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. If you want to make an offer on the truck, I'm happy to end the auction early if someone wants to own it today. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping costs if thats the route you choose to go. No warranties, sold as is where is.
