1957 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:
Up for sale is a 1957 Chevrolet 3200 Stepside Rat Rod Pickup. Lots of Patina!
Engine- 283 cui small block chevy, freshly rebuilt. Completely disassembled and put back together, new aftermarket camshaft, edelbrock aluminum intake, edelbrock carb, new hei distributor, new alternator, headers, brand new high capacity aluminum radiator, new battery, newer aluminum fuel cell, belts and hoses, you get the idea. The engine compartment has been detailed and painted.
Exhaust-Newer mufflers (Flowmaster / Magnaflow?) and exhaust pipes
Transmission- 4 speed truck transmission, 1st gear is bulldog, the trans shifts and works as it should. Original shifter with chrome piston knob.
Bed- Brand new wood in the bed along with aluminum fuel cell mounted.
Interior- Has later model seats out of a van I would think in red and gray. Has original headliner that was painted black. Floors, dash and door panels were all painted satin black. New carpet installed along with newer black and yellow larger Chevy floor mats. Has a vintage Monit dash tach installed (not pictured). New set of water temp and battery amp gauges. Brand new chrome interior window and door handle knobs.
Brakes- I put all new brakes front and back, new wheel cylinders and shoes, new brake lines, new master cylinder, all properly adjusted
Wheels/Tires- 20 inch wheels from a 2007 Silverado the tires have over 50% tread left
Glass- Brand new side window glass, back glass is good, vent glass is good, windshield is original and has a crack and a couple of little rock dings.
Body- This truck was used by the Oneida Mining Company down in Oneida, Tennessee before it sat in a junk yard for over 20 years. Then it became a work in progress for my Dad. It was in a hot rod magazine that featured the salvage yard and this truck as having potential. So it shows a lot of wear and tear. It has recently been painted in satin black with the Chevrolet painted on the tailgate in red. Also installed 24"x24" vinyl high quality graphic of the Dude from the Big Lebowski entitled "The Dude Abides".
Lights- All hooked up and working, including brakes, tail lights, head lights.
Bumper- Has both front and rear bumpers
What the truck still needs:
Horn
Wipers (not sure about those)
Heater (installed, just not hooked up)
Radio
Gas Gauge (not hooked up)
Speedometer (not hooked up)
It never had turn signals so that would be needed
Doesn't come with any seat belts installed, but we could throw one in from a GMC.
Trim- Original side and hood chrome, match condition of the truck.
It is a head-turner with history and not for the faint at heart!
Please bear in mind that this truck is over 58 years old and is far from a mint original. To make this a $40K stock model would take a lot of work, but body panels are easily available through Brothers Trucks along with any chrome trim, bumpers, etc. Assess the photographs and description for yourself to determine its condition. This vehicle is over 58 years old and is being sold AS-IS with NO guarantees expressed or implied. We are not responsible for shipping, the buyer will need to make arrangements, we will help load. We are open for pick-up times due to my father being retired. Please feel free to contact us if you'd like to schedule an appointment to view the Cruiser in person.
