The car is presented in its original Rally Red (#974) color with its original color Red (407) interior; the car is gorgeous from every angle. Originally purchased by G. Gownley in Eddystone, PA on 3/22/67 From Sunny Stein Chevrolet in Upper Darby, PA. The car was a dealer transfer some 6 1/2 Months later from Schultz Chevrolet in Hanover Pa.who was the ORIGINAL dealer who received the car new.

Per past owner, this car was purchased in Pennsylvania in 1977 by the 2nd and last owner. Originally used as a daily driver, it was restored and has been cherished as a collector car since. In the mid 1980's the car received a “body on” restoration and a base/clear coat repaint. The original 327/350 engine was completely rebuilt. The suspension was rebuilt, including front A-Arms, ball joints, rebuilt rear trailing arms, new rear spring, new AC Delco shocks. At that time, the car got a Dealer replacement windshield, new carpet, & had the seats converted to red leather. The wheels are early reproduction Western wheel Bolt-ons.
The original ‘’DC’’ Rally spare wheel lives in the spare tire tub and is shod with a BFG RED LINE tire. The ORIGINAL jack & handle remain in the jack storage area compartment (a very rare item).
The car retains its ENTIRE ORIGINAL DRIVETRAIN, Engine is numbered 71100523 V0825HT, 327/350hp, built on August 25, 1966, along with its original 3:36 rear end, AK code 9-6-66 date & four speed Muncie M20 wide ratio transmission, 3885010 case dated 7H31, July 31, 1966. The car has been authenticated by a NCRS master judge details available upon request.
The intake, heads, valve covers, shielding, original 6H2, July 29, 1966 dated 693 alternator, & voltage regulator, perfect un-cracked tire tub & original DC rally wheel spare. Original "A & B" keys as well..
The last owner has had the car for 42 Years! The car has been well kept in a dry environment and is a time capsule. It was treated as a collector car and driven sparingly since; 12000 miles since the 1982 rebuild.
Recent recommissioning work (2019-2020) was done with the eye of maintaining originality. 4 date-code correct 1966 brake calipers & an original DC master cylinder were installed. A complete tune up including carb rebuild, points plugs, cap and rotor & correct "326" water pump were installed.
The interior is in wonderful condition, with new window track felts, window crank handles and new vent handles as well. Dash pads, door panels & center armrest are original and received a complete cleaning and look amazing. In March 2020 it received a full detail, including, cleaning, compound and polish; the car looks amazing. T. The ORIGINAL LACQUER HARDTOP was polished out at this time. A new white headliner was installed. The replacement white soft top looks absolutely like the day it was installed; the caution tag is still in evidence on the rear window. Both soft & hard top rear windows are a 9.5 condition. Paint is absolutely stunning.
Upon start-up it runs easily and has the correct high idle until kickdown brings it to a steady 800 rpm idle. Consistent 45+ PSI oil pressure when fully warmed up. Upon pulling away, the clutch takes up easily and the transmission shifts as designed. The performance is excellent; the engine makes great power and torque. The car drive as well as it looks, the steering is tight as is the suspension and new brakes work as designed. This car is amazing.
Lots of documentation comes with the car including its original “Protecto-plate” (POP), manuals & many reciepts from its previous owner. This is a very RARE, EXTREMELY ORIGINAL, EARLY example of the 67 corvette roadster in perfect operating condition. Ready to drive & have fun or be NCRS / BLOOMINGTON judged.
