1987 Chevrolet S-10 Pro-Street Additional Info:
You can instantly see that this 1987 Chevrolet S-10 Pro-Street was made to haul only one thing: asphalt. That's because its full-built competition-ready machine with a 500+ horsepower V8 under the hood. And where else are you going to find this much street-eating power for this kind of affordable price.
This S-10 has some nice pieces you want on a classic pickup, like distinct Copper Metallic paint, a tonneau cover, and the bright grille that came later in the series. But of course, no one is going to mistake this for some nice and stock classic. It makes no efforts to go incognito with that huge power bulge in the lightweight fiberglass hood or the reinforcement bars coming out of the bed. And those bright Weld-style wheels can't help but draw attention to the extra-meaty tires in the rear.
From the moment you open the door, you can see that this truck only wants to get down to speedy business. That's why the interior upgrades center around race-ready features. You have dual racing bucket seats with G-Force five-point harnesses. These are contained within the custom racing cage. You have the Lecarra sports steering wheel, white-faced auxiliary gauges, toggle switches, and a Hurst ratchet shifter. There's also a line lock on the front disc brakes to get you ready for the dragstrip. Even the details taken care of, like the smooth aluminum door panels and the rear window upgraded to Lexan.
With all the powerful hints on the exterior and interior, you better believe there's some serious power under the hood. This is a 400 cubic-inch V8 with a bored .030 over kit (406 ci total.) It has been enhanced and fortified with 10.86 forged pistons, aluminum heads, 255/255 roller cam, Pro Comp intake, and topped with a Holley 750 double-pumper four-barrel carburetor. There are also the right supporting components, like the MSD ignition and aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The Hedman Hustler headers feed right into the exhaust that exits under the truck. The power package is stated to make over 500 horsepower, and It has the awesome growl of unfiltered performance to announce this power superiority to the world. The mighty motor feeds a hardy Powerglide transmission with a trans brake, 4500 stall, and 1.76 first gear ratio. It connects to a custom aluminum driveshaft with stout 1350 u-joints on its way to the 12-bolt rear end with 4.88 gears. Plus, the CalTracs adjustable shocks, hardy traction bars, and wide Mickey Thompson rear tires all help the power meet the pavement.
Serious power is within easy reach on this well-done and very capable machine. So if you'd love to own the streets, call today!!!
