1962 Chevrolet Impala SS Additional Info:

This 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS is nothing shy of sexy. This car was born as a factory 4-speed, dual carb, 409/409 HP car and owned by a Chevrolet dealer. In 1963, when the SS came out with a 409/425 HP engine, the owner had to have it. The engine was swapped at his dealership in 1963. It had lived its whole life as an original Nassau blue car until 2008 when it was sold, and the new owner restored it with some tasteful upgrades. It is finished in bright blue metallic with cloth interior covering the factory seats. The car runs, drives and sounds awesome.
Here is a short list of the major work that was done in 2008 when it was restored (there is receipts documenting all of these purchases):
  • Disc brake conversion; gas slot and cross-drilled upgrade
  • Upgraded stainless brake lines
  • Chrome brake booster and master cylinder
  • Complete front and rear drop spindle kit
  • New dash harness
  • All new chrome and trim
  • New wiring harness
  • New custom gauges
  • New LED taillights
  • New head light bezels
  • Front bumper re-chromed
  • New interior including headliner
  • New front and rear coil springs
  • New shocks (air shocks in rear)
  • New Cragar SS (knock-offs) 15x8 and 15x10 wheels and new tires
  • New ball joints
  • New gas line
  • Alarm system

  • Roller rockers 7/16 409 1.75
  • Z-33 Isk Camshaft

The bad:
  • There is a tiny sliver of rust over the passenger rear quarter panel. Most people wouldn't see it, but it is there. There are also a few spots on the brace under the passenger floorboard. I will get it on a lift and take pics of these spots.
  • The horn is not working but I will try to get that fixed
Here are the engine block codes for those of you who want them:
  • 3830814 - That number is on the back of the block
  • J190311T1215QB - That number is on the pad in front of the valve cover
The car will come with all of the receipts (lots), the trophies it has won, and the trunk is full of most of the original parts.
