1940 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:
Without a doubt, this sleek silver machine is one of the most interesting vintage trucks around that will be the hit of any car show. So it's a good thing this 1940 Chevrolet Pickup restomod was built to be a driver with a performance small block, Corvette front end, upgraded frame, and much more. So dig into the details on a truly unique stunner.
This might be a pre-war pickup, but the style you see here is far from old-school. It takes this American hero, and transforms it into a very enjoyable American hot rod. It starts with the deep kind of sliver paint that can only come from a modern metallic finish. An expertly eliminated front bumper means you can really see the shine of the distinct grille that dips low on the front end. And speaking of low, you have a great aggressive stance accented by the 17-inch Budnik polished alloys. In fact, while the body and running boards are steel, the fender are fiberglass units. They are expertly integrated so that the modern wheels tuck in so nicely. While you see modern touches, right down to the dual exhaust tips, this one also never loses that classic style. Everything from the two-piece windshield to the glossy cherry wood in the truck bed keep a vintage vibe going in this restomod.
The interior continues this cool mix of classic and new. The exterior silver returns on the metal pieces, and now it's joined by a tasteful dark blue on the seat, door panels, and carpeting. This is a secretly rewarding machine. For example, the bench seat is finished in a supple leather; the dash has integrated controls for provisions for air conditioning; and the headliner has a well-integrated control for an AM/FM/CD changer stereo. You driving position is quite comfortable thanks to a later model Chevy truck steering wheel mounted on a tilt column. And if the full red glow of the digital gauges didn't signal something special under the hood, the growl this makes when you turn the key certainly will.
The smooth inner walls of the engine bay and the tidy presentation of the motor mean this one is ready to show off. But what you'll really love is that this custom truck has a performance-built 350 cubic-inch V8. The information the consignor includes that this was enhanced and fortified with a bored .40 over kit, Crane Cam 284 Energizer, 1.52 ratio roller rockers, Comp Cam valve springs, three-angle valve seat, ported heads, and a Dart dual plane intake. It inhales deeply with a Demon four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with authority as shorty headers feed a rumbling X-pipe dual exhaust. The TH350 three-speed was built to handle this big power effectively with a B&M shift kit, Kevlar clutch kit, and 2200 RPM torque converter. And this feeds a Camaro Positraction rear end. As you look underneath this custom pickup, you're going to see a strong fully-boxed frame, Corvette independent front suspension, and a rear end upgraded with a central ladder bar and sway bar. Add in power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and modern performance tires, it's easy to enjoy this powerful custom Chevy.
The sale comes complete with restoration photos and service manuals. The looks you get from people will be admiration, not envy. After all, everyone loves a pre-war pickup done to an awesome standard. So if you want all eyes on you, don't miss this deal. Call now!
